Default PC Version - Crashing to desktop with no error message...

Alright so recently Burnout Paradise has been crashing to the desktop without displaying any kind of error message. I can load the game, select a vehicle, and get in game just fine but the game will crash after a random amount of time. My system specs shouldn't be a problem at all, but you can check them out. Here's what Windows says about the crash...

I think it mainly started doing this after I added the second video card to my system. I've tried updating/rolling back drivers and nothing is helping. I've tried SLI enabled and disabled, both crash... Also tried reinstalling.

The game just seems to "lock up" for a second, then it just closes as if something killed the process, I'm not shown an error message or anything.

Computer specs are:
• Asus Striker Extreme Moterboard.
• Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Processor overclocked to 3.1Ghz.
• 8GB's of DDR2 Corsair DOMINATOR memory.
• 2 x EVGA GTX 285 1GB graphics card that are SLI capable, but not in SLI for multi-monitor purposes.
• 2 x Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB hard drives in RAID 1.
• 2 x Seagate 500GB hard drives.
• Corsair HX-1000 Watt power supply.

Edit - After some research:
Quote:
It causes a stack overflow, and from what I can see, anyone who has 2xgtx 285's is having problems playing that game.

One review on newegg says that underclocking them before you play the game keeps it from crashing. eVGA's response was to "Install the 190.38 drivers".
I'm going to try underclocking, since I've already tried those drivers...

Edit Edit: underclocking seems to improve the time it takes before the game will crash, but I underclocked from a core clock of 648 to 590 and I don't want to go lower. I also tried the 190.62 and 191.03 beta drivers, they all have the same problem... I am using SoftTH to spread the game across two monitors (three when the third one gets here) so I'll try disabling that.

Edit Edit Edit: Disabling SoftTH isn't the problem.

I searched the forums for posts "One month and older" relating to PC crashes and came up with nothing similar to my problem.

I'm not playing online because I'm playing the game on a PC without a stable (wireless sucks) internet connection, therefore none of the "online freezing" fixes apply to me. Though I'm more than capable of setting up my network to allow the game to connect properly.

As I said this sounds like it's a problem that people have been having with 2 x GTX 285 graphics cards, I've read a few reviews on the cards where people that had two started experiencing this problem. This did start occurring AFTER I installed the second GTX 285. I'm hoping to run this game across three 24" monitors as soon as my third monitor shows up and it's going to be a disappointment if I can't fix this by then.

Edit: I did find some people talking about a lock up that seems to freeze the game, though some of the sounds continue to play. This is similar to what happens when I'm playing the game on a single screen and the game crashes. When I'm running SoftTH the game just closes immediately. I was unable to find a solution for this problem in the discussion that helped me though.

It's unfortunate that Criterion no longer offers their forums, I'm sure they would have at least taken some interest in this and tried to fix it.

Also, don't suggest that I buy a console jay0097 (I've noticed that you like to do that), that is an unacceptable solution to play a SINGLE game. I have an Xbox 360 already and I enjoy it from time to time, but I'm not going to buy Burnout again just because the company won't fix a problem with their game. The PC is the superior system when it comes to power, customization, and accessories, consoles are only good because they're all the same and easier to develop for.

I did, however if you take a look at Matt Websters profile you'll see this little tidbit of information:

I doubt I'll get a timely response.
