Default Freezing, stuttering, hiccuping on PC:burnout paradise

i had big stuttering issues in this game, and after a week of hair pulling, i tracked it down to a 'HID compliant device' that kept popping up in device manager. If you suspect this, alt-tab out of the game, and open device manager whilst the game is running but minimised, if you see a device popping on and off in 'HID compliant devices' this is the reason. catch it when it pops up and right-click -disable. now the game runs silky smooth enjoy. note - still havent figured out what device this is, i suspect could it be vfd (htpc box) watever is is, this sorted it big time. hope this helps someone, good luck!

update, yep it was the vfd/led display connected to an internal usb header causing huge stuttering. somehow the bp engine has a problem with this when it is otherwise fine with other games in vista/xp. sounds wierd but it is an issue. this could happen with other devices too, ie tv cards with IR (Infrared) ports/usb devices/usbmemsticks that come under 'human interface devices' in device manager. worth checking and eliminating by disabling in dm(exept kb and mouse!) good luck.

Hello everybody, I have exactly same problem with my HTPC and VFD LCD display. While Burnout Paradise is running device switches between on and off and game performance lags. Exists any permanent solution, except temporary disable that HID device? Other games are OK. Thanks for advice.

UPDATE:

Any other games are not OK. It is hardware problem of the iMON Device. Only current solution is to disable that device before game starts.
