Default "Helping Us Help You" - Paradise Online Connection Help

In the interests of helping the community further I wanted to repeat something that we are putting on to Criterion Games shortly. Paul and I have been working the forums to help out, but I wanted to stick something for players to go to first if they have connection questions.

Paradise Online Surgery
We hope you’re enjoying playing Burnout Paradise online as much as we are.

We built Burnout Paradise to push back the frontiers of console gaming online, making it easier than ever to play online. But, as all veteran gamers know, the nature of the internet can sometimes mean you hit a connection hitch that affects your online game. Bummer.

In the unlikely event that you do come across a problem, here’s the checklist to run through before you seek further help.

1. Obvious one first.
Is your internet connection working properly or could it have been interrupted? Are the lights on your router or your modem showing the connection as working? Can you connect to the internet using your computer or another console?

2. Check your console’s network settings are correct and make sure you are signed in to Xbox Live or the PlayStation Network.
If you have a PlayStation 3, go to the Settings menu on the Cross Media Bar, then down to the Network settings to see that your console is correctly configured. If the settings are correct, go right on the Cross Media Bar to the Network menu there and check that you are signed in to the PlayStation Network.

If you have an Xbox 360, turn it on and go to the System blade, then select Network Settings. When you have checked that your Xbox is correctly configured, go back to the Xbox Live blade and select the Connect To Xbox Live button to sign in.

3. Check that your console gaming service is working.
If you can’t connect when you try to sign in, there may be a temporary problem with your gaming service. This would be very unusual though. Depending on the messages your console gives you when you try to connect, you should be able to tell if this is the case.

If you use Xbox Live, look for the helpful Xbox Live Status indicator in the top-left of the page at .

4. Check the Burnout Paradise server status.
Every Tuesday morning between 9:30 and 10:30 GMT we take the Burnout Paradise servers offline for a brief maintenance check. During that time you will not be able to connect.

We will be opening a community section of the website shortly which will inform our players of any unscheduled server maintenance outside of that time. So far, we’ve had very few noticeable server-related issues, and we plan to make sure that’s how it stays!

5. Check the EA support section. .
Here you’ll find details of how to adjust the settings on the modem or router you use to connect to the internet.

Use the drop down menus to select your platform and select Burnout Paradise, and, if you have it, you may find it handy to have your modem or router manual handy.

6. We’re ready to believe you.
If none of the above gets you playing again you may have come across something that needs the specialist help of the Burnout online team.

To report an online problem like this, use the community section technical support at

Post your question here with as much information as you can, including your gamertag or online ID, connection type, where, when and what the problem was and as much supporting info as you can (such as game type, number of players etc). Also, let us know if it’s an intermittent or persistent problem.

If you can give us all of that, the crack online team will respond to your problem as quickly as possible, and have you back on the streets of Paradise in no time.

We’ll see you online!

I have yesterday bought burnout paradise.
Now I would like an online account in the game to create. However, the registration is not complete. once on the "Step 2" page to confirm, I land after a short charging time again on the "Step 2" page, but no error message, the email is not valid, etc.

also on the official site, the burnout, the server would be down. However, I can hardly imagine the server over the weekend (where so many want to play) to be maintained.

Default Multiplayer Online question!

When I go onto the Paradise Network (XBOX LIVE) I can invite a friend in and Im able to see him and the others online racing about etc.....Question is..........How do I start/enter a race online and invite my friend in so we can both race together aswell as against the other people online ?? So far everytime I try to start a match is says Ill leave the current game and then I either end up in a race against just other people without my friends or its just my friends and no one else??!!

Also When are they releasing the New island update??

Many thanks in advance for anyone who can shed some light on this for me.

"$Online_invalid_persona"MESSAGE COMES UP WHEN TRYING TO CONNECT TO"PARADISE CITY SERVERS" XBOX360

First off, had the game on pre-order and got it the day it came out, also had cagney and bikes. Got my Elite license, moved up to top 100 and got bored, it always worked fine, besides headset issues.

I recently downloaded the burnout 1.7 upgrade, legend cars pack, toy cars pack, and boost car packs.

When i started up the game everything was normal untill it tried to connect to the "Paradise City Servers"
then i got this message:

" $Online_invalid_persona "

-All my other EA games work fine
-I have deleted the update and redownloaded/installed it twice
-Changed the date on my xbox to 11/15/2005(as told to)
-Checked all ports.
-Checked all wiring
-Talked to ea tech (north america).
-I have also changed my online persona from my email to my Xbox Live tag on all of your website(EA UK, EA SPORTS, EA NA).

Any help in this matter would be grately appreciated.

I cant connect. It was working fine for the record attempt by the folks at ready up but now i cant connect. Im getting the server is unavailable error. I tried to connect by going through the store and my xbox locked up.

XBL is working fine though and next connection is solid. Tis a puzzler.

I just downloaded the 1.7 pack and am now getting the following error:

$online_invalid_persona

This happens when connecting to the EA servers. I now can not play this game at all because it is stuck in a loop at that menu and won't go any further. If I don't come across a fix by tomorrow this game is going back.

Ridiculous.

Oi!! Anyone actually reading these forums?? I've deleted all saved data and re-downloaded the update; I'm still getting the error inmy above post. I only bought the game on Saturday!! All my other games work fin online, so it's clearly an issue with the game/EA's servers. If it's not fixed by friday it's going back.

SORT. IT. OUT!!

Default Unable to connect to server for days (PC)

Can someone tell me the status of PC online gameplay? I have been trying for 3 days to connect to the server and have had no luck. The server status on the community website has been "down" for days with no public explanation.

Is this server still operational? Or is this a purely offline-mode game now?

Platform: PC
version: patch 1.1.0.0
EAID: signed up on ea.com
router config: DMZ

I am getting a connection problem. Sort of. Whenever I try to get into an online game, it does that connection and stuff, and I can see the other people's names in the list, but then I am booted out of the online game, in addition to being signed out/disconnected from Xbox Live. I get the error message "Cannot connect to servers", regardless of the number of players in the lobby and such.

I never got this problem until somewhere around the release of Big Surf Island (sorry, but I forget if it was before or after the island was released, I've had this problem for so long, and I never bothered to try to get help; I have a hunch that it's from before). This is the only game that gives me this problem.

I've only really tried connecting to Freeburn lobbies.

Other information:

Gamertag: gravy666

Internet connection: My Xbox 360 is connected to a booster, which uses a wireless connection to my wireless router, connected to my computer. Surprisingly good connection, even with the distance between both points. Practically lag-free. I'm pretty sure that the connection is not the problem, but I could be wrong.

try loading the game before connecting to the net
if that sdoes not work then try it this way

log on pc
then log console on connect to page you want on the pc then connect to the game
then you should be able to have both running at the same time
if not then you shall have to put the eathernet cable in to you r console then you will have no problems at all

i think it is just the ea servers so many people using them
