Default Criterion Games are neglecting PC gamers

I know you people at criterion games like to read the forums and see what different gamers think of burnout paradise, so please read this.

I am playing burnout paradise on PC and I feel that criterion games has neglected the PC gamers many a time now. They have neglected PC gamers with the legendary cars pack, the toy cars pack, the boost specials pack, the cops and robbers pack and the big surf island pack.

They release the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the island update first, and then completely forget about the PC gamers. They never post news articles on the criterion games website or on the criterion games network. COME ON CRITERION GAMES!!!!!!! Every gamer should be treated equally. RELEASE THE ISLAND UPDATE FOR PC ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!

sorry guys they are not neglecting it it just new to them .
they are used to making console games not pc games stick in ther as they do do evrything to fix any probs as soon as they can .
as for forgetting about pc user then why do you have the game on pc
it just takes time with the pc as ther is more to deal with bugs an stuff

you should check burnaholics web site made up from people who love the game am sure you might find stuff about the game there for pc .

At least Criterion should be honest and tell us if they are working on big surf island for PC, or if they have no plans for a pc release.

If there are no such plans, than for me it is like waiting for christmas when you are a little kid, just to find out then that what you get is just a pair of socks.

sorry dude but the pc user s get it and all other updates about 1 month after the console user s .like i say the platform on pc is new to them rather than just ship it of the shelves the have to get rid of more bugs an stuff .
as said before the console s are for gaming (not pc s )
so you s guys should get around the next couple of weeks at top i think around a month .

Okay. It's quite a bunch of days later, jay0097 you seem to have been a tad wrong. Criterion Games are neglecting PC gamers

seems like you are right (i was wrong they neva brought out the island for the pc ) so sue me .

ther must be a reason for them not giving it to pc users

me i think they could not have made enough sales on the pc version so they left it alone
also the pc version was the latter
they may be even realised that they wher not good on the pc platform what with all the problems on the pc version

well it sucks for you guys

I think the very problem was the demo. As far as I know the demo is the whole game just with a time limit. In other forums or threads about Big Surf Island (PC Version: Yes or No) people say that it was to easy for other people to find way around the time limit, at least until Criterion released the 1.1.0.0. patch which seems to check the serial number of the game when going online for the first time (nearly a month after the game came out!)

But as a good customer who payed ~40 Euros for the game, i just can say it is not my fault that Criterion made it so easy for those people to get the game for free (download demo from a legal website; crack the time limit). But now it is MY problem: i won't get Big Surf Island for PC just because the sales were not good enough.

I think you are wrong again. They did a very good job because the game runs great even on mid range PC and nearly every review claimed that is was a very good PC-version. If they had their problems then just because they had to learn a few things about the PC version of a game for example the high number of cheaters. But it is 'learning by doing' as many things in life are.
And they are making a Need for Speed game, and NFS always came out for PC, so they do have to make a PC Version of their NFS. Sure, BP was their first PC game for years, but not the first pc game they ever made. Maybe BP was even a kind of test run of a PC version for their upcoming NFS, because this time they do not have a year to make a PC version. PC players would not understand if they had to wait a year longer for NFS - you can not compare Burnout and NFS when it comes to a pc version. Like i said, there was always a pc version of NFS, with Burnout it is different, because BP is the first Burnout for PC.

I hope there will be demo of Criterions NFS, but for god's sake this time not with the full game in it.

I recommend to BUY this game, because it is great.

P.S.:
I STILL WANT BIG SURF ISLAND FOR PC!

I dont think you know what you are rambling about JoeHighashi.

You are somewhat implying the PC version was pirated to hell and back yet I dont think this was the case, saying that there has been little sales data to indicate how it did.

However if it was pirated heavily that would be MORE reason to get DLC out of the door to get legit players to buy it recoup more cash. Has this happened? No.

Big Surf already exists in burnout paradise PC, look through the game files there is partial data for the island preexisting (unless a patch cleaned them up and got rid).

To port it over to the PC costs time and money. It isn't done in a day. You need a bunch of people and at least few weeks. Those people can not work on a new game as long as they have to do work on the island. So the amount of money they get from selling Big Surf island must be higher than what they have to invest. If they think that is costs more money to make it than they get back, then they won't make a pc-version. You can not play the dlc without the main game, so Criterion calculates with the sales of the full legit game.

I never said that piracy is the only reason, it is a reason.

If you are in the game and you look over to the Island, than what are you seeing? Right the still existing placeholder of the island. I still have those files you mentioned or at least i do have still files of it. Big Surf island (if it comes out) will replace most of these files or deactivate some of them (which tell the game to use the placeholder) because then the placeholder is not needed anymore. This just means that Criterion left themselves the option to bring Big Surf Island to the PC version, but it does not garantee that they will do it. Maybe they planned it, but rejected the idea of doing so. So if the full complete island is not on the disk (which it isn't) than there is no proof that they are working on it. So why do you mention these files? They proof nothing, just that there is the possibility to add the island to the game.

Since i mod the game Star Wars Battlefront II i do know what it's like having to debug content.
A fix to one problem could lead to a new one, and the next fix does the same.
Another problem may be an issue which means you have to remove something important, so you have to spend ages finding an alternative.
In other words: IT'S F***ING HARD!!

But with a whole team of people and this much time i do agree they should have fixed it by now

i disagree. if they knew they were going to make bad money they wouldn't have done a PC version. Yes, thanks for doing an amazing pc version, probably the best game you can buy on a computer, but at least have some information if the island is coming to PC.

Started to play again yesterday and now I really want the island.
Isn't there someone who knows something about it(or can tell me that it won't come so I can give up hoping)?
There aren't even news on their homepage anymore(the last is from september...).

Did anyone who plays on PC ever noticed that at the beginning there were always min 20 freeburns open and sometimes even more than 40.
But since the first Patch there are only about 5 and never more than 10 open.
I think also many players will leave because there isn't much motvation anymore(I think I will get 102% in the next days and then I don't know what to do...).

102% cars, 101% bikes, 490/490 challenges, good stats (not great, but good enough)

I've completed the last challenge months ago, so there is nothing left to do. I don't want to play the same challenges over and over again. That is the reason why i don't play online anymore.

But BP is a great game and i want Big Surf Island for PC so badly. New races, new cars, new billboards, new jumps, new smashes etc - just what i need.
I will return to Paradise City, but only if i can drive across the bridge to reach Big Surf Island.
