Default Should the new island packs be free?

i mean common.. i though burnout was a freindly fun enviroment where u have fun and adventure. does criterion really think people want to use there credit cards on the net to pay for those packs or even expect people to buy a playstation store card after buying the game and the ps3 i mean jeez... at least give us the island free with one car.

No, they shouldn't be free.

Have you been in a cave for the last year, or are you just greedy?

Have you seen how much they've given you for free so far?

Criterion is the only game company that I know of that has given so much to us for free. If they are asking for a bit of loose change for a whole new update, I think they have the right. Would you rather an update for a price or nothing at all, because face it, their workers have to be paid somehow.

You can't make us believe that the island pack should be free. Do you have any idea how much it cost to make that pack. Sure, it's only a virtual island, but it still takes a bit of money to make it.

It should be payed for, and I will, therefore, pay for it.

i think the island should be free in a way .As it will split the community they have worked so hard on the game and gave so much to the gamers . But it would be a shame if not every one had the new island it will have an impact on the bp community . But none the less the guy's at criterion need to be payed and more so all the hard work and free stuff we have had they deserve to be payed it's the only game i know of that has been released that to this day is still well played by all .
So inrespect of the criterion guy's we should pay and if your a lover of bp then why NOT pay ? for the content

well done criterion

I think most players who are still playing Paradise by the time the island comes out, will be more then willing to pay for the island.

It's no different from fps having paid for map packs.

I will be paying for the island, and probably most of the car packs.

I don't do my job for free, and I don't expect anybody else to either.

I think the island pack will include the dust storm and possibly other things too, so if you want to think of it as buying a car and getting an island for free, I guess you can think of it like that!

After all that they've given to us that's free, I'll be happy to pay for the new island pack.

you your a bp lover then you would have never started this thread .
as so much hard work has gone into the game the guys at criterion dont want to hear about self pitty the world is made of money what it take to go around no person should have spend so much time on one game not to be paid let alone work for free unheard of
OXFAM is a that way .

He has, no doubt, gotten the game a day before he posted that, then found out about this, without knowing that we've been given tonnes of free DLC over the past year.

I would say that the only thing I was disappointed with was that the island was originally meant to be released last year. August rings a bell.

I'm now glad it has taken the extra amount of time as it has given me the chance to complete all but 2 of the online challenges.

I hope it isn't going to be too far on in the year before it is ready to buy. I haven't seen a date yet.

It shouldnt be free, but It's a good point about it splitting the community - i'f be annoyed if people who choose not to buy it are prevented from joining games with people who have it..

They could do a magic fence or something.. if you have the addon you can drive through to the island.. if not you get a flashing barrier and cant go through but can stay on the main island to wait for people to come back, something like that.

Then the game could allow you to do all the normal events, races and challenges, but just drop the non island players from any new challenges until the challeneg is finished..

I bet they wont though.

People forget that the bikes were actually supposed to be paid for DLC, but they gave that to us free.
Bring on the Island.

Over the past year, criterion has put in so much stuff into bp free of charge, so they should charge for the island. I think i read somewhere that the duststorm WON'T be included with big surf island.

I'd like it to be free as some sort of recompense for the lamest of rip-offs that is the Party-pack.

It's always nice to get some thing for free, but I for one will be very happy to pay for it! I have not got any of the car packs and can only see myself getting 1 or 2 cars, but that's my choice.
The only problem I can see with the Island is when your online, some people will have it and some won't. But I bet that the guys from CG will have that all sorted!
So, bring it on!

it shouldn't go any further than 7 or 8 pounds, but seeing that cops and robbers is 8 then it might...
