Default Burnout Paradise - Official Feedback Thread

If anyone has any things you would like to see in a possible patch then please post here so the EA mods have one combined area for reference.

I started another post here

http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk/b...ml#post4897048

but this will hopefully be the definative place for requests.

Here is mine.

1) Reverse the camera controls so left is look left and vice versa.

2) Option to disable takedown, super jump and drive-thru cameras

3) Add a GPS marker system for any point on the map when in freeride

i think 3 is a good idea. even in single player you should be ble to have gps and it will use the same idea as in the races, usesing the indiacators. would be good idea if you arent good with the map. i also agree with 2 but dont disable them, just have an option to turn them off

Sorry I did actually mean "add option to disable takedown cameras".

add a horn for every car and a siren for police car woohoo!! probably wont happen though because it will take a while for them to work on. if you do though ea and criterion then make it either the b button on the xbox or by pushing down on either of the analog sticks which arent used for anything at the moment

Also add it for online challenges. The red dot on the map is all well and good, but it helps to know if it's just off the mini-map, or on the opposite side of the city!

Also, I'd like to be able to see some stats on the players I play with. Either a record of (for example) number of takedowns scored in a Freeburn session, or perhaps some cumulative stats. I know some stats are being recorded, as we get selected highlights when we start races (JohnSmith is 8 takedowns up on you, you have beaten FredBloggs in 7 online races, etc). I'd like to be able to see these stats any time... (or am I I missing something and they're already there?)

Default Dear Santa, ...

I agree with the reversing of the camera view, I can't get to grips with that at all.

Some other things I would like are;

1. I have needed to re load game a couple of times after becoming stuck on a fence, so it would be cool to see a vehicle reset.

2.I would also like a retry option for a failed race, particularly Burning Routes. It's frustrating to drive all the way back to the start after failing by a second or two.

All in all though it's a great game, keep up the good work.

Cheers!

In addidtion to my suggestion of the GPS marker, maybe add a distance to it too like when you race you have a distance countdown there.

Default More Wheel Support

Seeing as this is a racing game, it only makes sense to give better support to the racing wheel. Namely, the ability to reassign buttons, or at least have a set of preset controls for the wheel. The main complaint is the boost and e-brake buttons. A and X are a little difficult to reach with your thumb while gripping the wheel at high speeds. Burnout does not feature gear shifting, so it would make a lot more sense (and much easier to drive) if the left and right gear paddles (LB & RB) could be used for E-brake and Boost respectively.

Also, navigating the map is quite difficult when only using the wheel. A lack of left stick makes it close to useless. Please when using the wheel, allow the player to use the D-pad for navigating the map, instead of just selecting options on the left.

Thank you EA in advance.

Thanks for your feedback guys, in this thread and in the other one, I've included them in my most recent report and passed them on to the developers for you .

Any chance of getting this thread stickied so there aren't any onther random threads created along the same lines??

Also I noticed a minor thing today.
When "shutting down" a new car it shows you the screen to let you know that the car will appear at the junkyard.
Upon returning to freeride the HUD never came baclalalalail I wrecked then it seemed to sort itself out.
Nothing major I know but I thought I would let you guys know.

This thread has been made a 'stick'y, in the hope that it is indeed "the definitive place" for your feedback .

I hope you don't mind that I've slightly modified the thread, so that it's purpose is clear: it's intended for people to post their feedback from the game and suggest things which they would like to see addressed in a possible patch .

Much appreciated.

I noticed in the old thread that someone mentioned that this would be the
2nd patch.

For me this isn't the case since I am playing on Xbox 360.
I can only assume that there was a release patch for PS3 users.

Yes, according to the news page in-game, it was a launch-day patch to fix online drop-outs for people behind strict firewalls... It was numbered v1.10

I'd like to see more game modes online.

why is'nt there Marked Man included?, or Road Rage.

How about some new modes. e.g.

Tag; Where someone starts off tagged and to pass the tag you have to take out other players, the loser would be the person who spent the most amount of time tagged and winner the least.

Infected: Ok, i couldn't think of another title, but the idea is someone is infected and he has to hunt down and take out uninfected. If he takes someone down then there infected aswell and join in with helping infect the uninfected.

Survival: Someone is marked, everyone has to chase after him and he has to surviva as long as possible. Whoever takes him down is now the new marked man and he now has to survive. The winner would be the player who survive the longest in a set amount of time.

HORSE: Someone does a stunt and the others have to beat it.

Having a race opt out online would be good. Sometimes you're happily in freeburn the host can create a race and start it, you have no choice of getting out of it unless you quit. Also a veto would be good, if you want to race the racers should be able to veto the rules so the rules change.
If there is different game modes put in this veto can be used to change game mode.

Also a rockthevote system would be good, again on freeburnonline players should be able to start a vote for an event, and if enough players vote for it then the host is forced to make it.

Also need the ability to retry or restart event instead of having to finish and go back to the start.

I've just bought this game and at the moment there are only two things than i would like to see in a future update/patch.

Firstly, the camera controls needs to been reversed or at least optional. This was the main thing that i did'nt like with the demo and i almost did'nt buy this game because of it.

Secondly, i really do think that there should be drivers in the cars. I know there has'nt been drivers in the previous Burnout games but in this open-world such as this, it really does feel a little odd than when you driving down the highway with a pretty wreched car and the doors are swining open, you see an empty seat. Test Drive Unlimited had drivers so i cant see why Burnout Paradise should'nt have. I dont know if drivers can be added with an update/patch but if they can, this would undoutably improve the realism and my personal enjoyment of the game.

Other than that, this is a very good game.....Cheers!

I guessed why Road Rage wasn;t included in my post earlier - not seeing the state of other people's cars would make a difference to how the game played.

Seconded - these all sound good, and I wouldn't be surprised if Criterion already have these sorts of things in mind... But on the other hand, they did say they wanted to do something 'new' with DLC, so who knows?

I see where you're coming from here, but too many of these sorts of options could potentially over-complicate the currently simple and efficient online system. But then again, if anyone can do this sort of thing elegantly, Criterion can...

I doubt very much if that would happen, as it would most probably affect the rating for the game with bodies hurling through windscreens etc - I think Motorstorm (which does this) was as 12, and Burnout is a 3+.

Having said that, someone from the BBFC was interviewed on the Gamespot UK podcast the other week, and apparently DLC is exempt from classification, so I've just blown my own argument out of the water!

Default Stuck in Show Time

I'm trying to do time trails and the game is stuck in Show Time.
I change the rules to Time Trails, go back to the game, and its
still in Show time.

Time trials aren't activated by hitting LB+RB (or whatever the equivalent is for PS3).
You just find the start of the road and drive down it and a timer will appear at the top of the screen.

The Veto and Vote system would work if they kept it quick and simple like it is in Halo 3 or Call of duty 4.

Also whats DLC?

Sorry, DLC = Downloadable Content...

As for the damage thing, I was just playing devil's advocate, and guessing a valid reason it was excluded. If the real reason was "so we can buy it later" then I will be well miffed!

Would it be possible to have an option to change the gas+break buttons back to X for gas and Square for brake.

Default What i like and sadly don't like

What can i say for this new addition of burnout series.

I do love the free roaming aspects and the connection to other players on the net is quick and easy. The use of the usb camera is great fun. The map layout is Nice and huge with a varied amount of road styles from twisty mountain hills to inner city driving. Many things to see and find from jumps to signs to be smashed.

But sadly there are a few thing i find a disappointment. The lack of amenity's many a time you'll need a repair or a boost mid race and there's never is enough. Id like to change my key-layout but there are no options. Not a big fan of the music in the game only a few tracks i haven't blocked from my delicate eyes would be nice to play the music from my ps3 hard drive instead.
also The way the colour goes when you crash can be a distraction.
