Like I said in the other thread, an option to cancel server connection IMO is essential. I've been stuck on that screen a few times now and have had to turn off the console so I can continue playing. (I'm playing on the Xbox 360).

Another addition would be the ability to cancel a race/stunt run/marked man, etc. before it goes into full swing. A few times now I've accidentally pulled triggers looking for specific event and it wasn't the one I wanted.

Otherwise, great game guys. Really enjoying it.

PS. The log in section on the EA website for burnout link is broken. Page missing or renamed error.

If you start a race then simply park up and after a couple of seconds the race will cancel anyway

Perhaps a few can be done regarding creating races. I list the following:

1. Increased checkpoint amount
2. Ability to zoom in on the map without having to place a marker down first. There are just so many dots on the map and its hard on the eyes to place a checkpoint marker down correctly.
3. I'd love to have more start/finish points. I was disappointed to see that i couldnt place start/finish/checkpoints on I-88 or within the dirt track or at the quarry.

Lastly, this is regarding online challenges. I'd like to have the option to choose challenges you wish to do. Let me explain. Say you have 4 friends in the room and only 3 of them want to do challenges. I'd like to still be able to do 3 player challenges.

Default Controls!!!

I am LOVING the new Burnout, however I would be LOVING IT even more if there was the ability to configure the controls!! I would much prefer to play the game using the D-pad to steer instead of having to use the analogue!! Any chance EA/Criterion???

They answered that on this week's podcast: No.
The long answer is that the controls are fine tuned and the handling of the cars needs the finesse of analogue control from the sticks and the triggers. Swapping them to d-pad and face buttons would lose all of that...

I'm glad to see that they are not letting the play swap out the analog controls, but has there been any word that they will let the user choose different buttons for non-anlog things such as e-brake and boost? Not being able to use the paddle shifters on the wheel for e-brake and boost is killing me,

No, but as posted earlier in the thread, your suggestion has been passed back to Criterion...

Default camera!!

the main camera behind the car makes it unbelivably hard to see on comming traffic if there was a few more like in other burnout games like the bonnet view the in car view and the slightly distantview would be great apart form that its an amazing game!

I would really appreciate the option to have the mini-map in the corner orientated to the direction you are travelling. My simple brain cannot workout which direction I want to turn if heading south...

I would have to agree with the OP's comment about the GPS marker. I keep getting lost!

A couple of other additions or changes would be:

* Bring back the split screen option so I can play with the missus on Burnout again (like the excellent one on Burnout Revenge!)

* Have the ability to jump back to a Junk yard (its a PITA if you havent found the others and it gets annoying to have to ride around and get back to it again, unless it had a GPS marker!)

* Ability to pull the camera a little further back and up from the car to see a bit more of the street, I'm not sure if its just me but at times its hard to see where the road goes (and looking at a map @ 200mph is not the easiest thing in the world!)

I thought that was just me! I've lost count of the number of times I've turned left instead of right, even when I was confident I'd finally got it right...

Further to my earlier comment about player stats - an upload feature for mugshots and stats would be nice - a sort of 'player homepage' you can view on the web where you can see you most recent mugshots, who you currently have takedown rivalries with, and game progress details like number of cars owned, shortcuts unlocked, etc etc...

And while I'm dreaming, I'd also like a pony.

I would like to see two updates please:
1. Some way to easily return to the junkyard
2. A speedometer doo hickey that tells you what speed your are travelling at

This is a must - I hate having to look at the map every 2 blocks to find a burning route location or junkyard or what ever else I might be looking for.

Another must. It's not so bad when you're at the beginning of a new license since you can just grab an event to get back to the other side of the city, but later on when you've completed a lot of stuff, it does get tedious to have to drive all the way back to start a burning route over again (especially if you hate the car you're driving).

But all in all, this is seriously one of the best games I have ever played.

Default More cents

More stuff that would enhance the game:

1. A junkyard quicklist - I don't really need to see the vehicle model when I just want to scroll through the cars to look at the stats. This is the slowest part of the game. Just give me list I can scroll through quickly (preferably vertically) with a screenshot of the car and the stats. Load the model for the paint job after I pick it. And that list should be sortable by car type (i.e. aggression, speed, stunt). At the very least please give us a way to sort/filter by car type.

2. A speedometer along with a new event for getting and maintaining a certain speed for a certain amount of time

3. A view option with a rear view mirror (preferably 2 options, one in first and one in third person)

4. A button to scroll backwards through the playlist

... please

Default bad view grinds my gears

In online play every time someone beats a drift or other objective you get a message bar right in the middle of your screen telling you the info. But it covers the view of the road for a few seconds many time Ive crashed very uneasily into cars and other obstacles because i couldn't see them and can be a real pain in a race when traveling a high speed.

I have noticed something today that relates to my previous post on camera controls.

I said that at the moment the controls on the right stick are all inverted (which my brain just can't cope with )
BUT
When you go into "Showtime" the left/right controls work in the normal direction while the up/down is still inverted.

Maybe try to get 2 seperate options for the camera.

1) Left/right - inverted/normal
2) Up/down - inverted/normal

The reason I think both need to be separate is I know a few people who play shooters with inverse up/down and the above method should accomodate everyone.

Seem to make sense to me.

I like to have a game varient similar to rally racing, where one set of racers can go across a created course and then hit a check point where the second set of racers take off.

A good list of things there! ...my gripes are:

. not being able to restart when doing a race off line and failing miserablely
. i don't know about everyone else but could do with a slightly higher view from the
back of the car as i can't see whats ahead of my car and keep crashing.
. when looking around whilst in the car the camera angles are pap.

and this ones just a request top my fellow racers, please set up matches without traffic please, i get nowhere near the end of the race otherwise.

And the game was made by a UK Dev.. beleave it or not.

I agree with the camera suggestions, it needs to be a bit higher so many times have i been caught out by the tight corners because i just did'nt see them coming at the speed im doing. When im flying through traffic at 200mph it's a bit hard to take your eyes off the car to look at the minimap, and if i actually do by the time ive checked the map and refocused on the car the corner is an inch infront of me or im hurtling towards another car.

Oh and maybe more obvious indicators and a loud indicator sound to give us a warning.

I like the idea of the junkyard shortcut, but I doubt Criterion would do it. They won't do restarts so I doubt they'd do this, as it breaks you out of the 'free roaming' mechanic...

They also said they won't do a speedometer as they think it is irrelevant in this type of game.

Junkyard quicklist is a great idea - it's the same problem that MotorStorm has - it takes ages to load the 3d model of the car. At least Evolution Studios fixed that for online games. Hopefully Criterion can do the same for Burnout.

I'm sure the rear view mirror was touched on in the podcast (I might be wrong) and again they said they weren't doing it. I might be wrong on that one though.

I don't think there are any buttons left for a 'previous song' button, are there?
