Portugal!

Sadly, I had to leave America unexpectedly. Me and my girlfriend decided to have a vacation for good and fly to Portugal for a couple of months. I'm about to get a flight soon.
When we do get there, I have yet another photography assignment for my company, the good thing is that I get to go see FC Porto play and takes shots of them. Possibly meeting Hulk again, that guy is huge.
I've already gathered all my stuff, played some football with my friends here in America, and ate a really good cheeseburger. If I type any more about it, I'll cry.
We're supposed to meet up with a very good friend of mine whose Portuguese and huge Porto fan. He'll be our guide and drive us around and show us where good places to eat are at.
By the way, my Portuguese is terrible I really hope I don't say the wrong thing. The good thing is that my girlfriend knows Portuguese really well and she'll be my translator.
I'm so glad I didn't have to wait 3 months to go, now I'll be there in a few hours.
Next blog, will probably be an update from Porto.

Thanks! I really appreciate you reading this. Glad to see this gets some notice. I'll do better with the next blogs, it's just I didn't think people would read it.Quote:
Nice to see another traveler here. This will be my first in Portugal. I met my friend whose Portuguese who was in town when Porto was at Manchester United. He told me I should go see Porto play sometime.
I travel a lot, mostly around Europe. I've traveled to North Africa once when I was 18, and then to America which was nice. I've been taking photos since I was wee little lad. I really like going to Italy and getting tickets to see derby matches. Even though its dangerous.
I also love to take photos of the matches and if I'm lucky I get to meet the players. France was really nice, I wish I could have stayed their longer, I was in Madrid for a few weeks when I was 19, that was a nice vacation. I plan to go to South Africa for the world cup, and hopefully to Poland for the Euros.
Sorry this is long.Posted 24-07-2009 at 03:42 AM by Cheeky Hobbit

Excellent. I've only been around Europe myself (unless you would classify Russia as in Asia) I've only really done travel as a holiday but it must be great to be able to earn a living while doing it. Never actually been to a football match abroad before but there seems to be a fantastic atmosphere at games like the Milan derby.
I usually try to get photos of architecture and the impressive landmarks sort of thing. Scandinavia is the main area I've travelled. Weather isn't great but some incredible places like Copenhagen.
From my own experience I can say I went to the north of France and didn't partcularly like it
I know people that have been to Marseille and enjoyed it so maybe the south coast offers a bit more. Never been to Spain but Italy I loved going to. Been to Venice and Bari so far, both great places. Going back to Scandinavia this August but hopefully I might be able to go to the West coast of Italy next year
