Well I started up this thread a while ago and really enjoyed some of the ideas you guys were posting. But it then got moved to the Fifa 09 Feedback area and has since gone a bit off the boil. It basically ignored gameplay, online and all other major issues with Fifa and focussed on the small details that add to the realism of the in game experience.

So here are some of the best ideas:

Substitutes Warming up: A great idea IMO and something that would really add that extra layer of detail in a match situation. Players in track tops doing stretches or jogging on the side of the pitch would look wicked, they could also applaud the crowd and you could have chants for players warming up. (Rooney, Rooooney )

Managers in the Technical Area: An idea similar to the subs one but probably slightly more difficult to implement. As manager models would have to be created from scratch. However this did work extremely well in Euro08 admittedly with a much smaller number of teams.

Less Cutscenes: What i'd really like to see in Fifa10 is less pre defined cutscenes and more in game events. So if a player gets a yellow card I want to see it on the in game camera, not a cutscene. The same thing goes for players showing descent, rolling around injured and being sent off. In real life theres no camera man on the pitch in players faces and there shouldn't be on Fifa. Goal and chance replays are ofcourse exempt.

4th Official: Last year we had the ref and linesman and this year it's the 4th official turn to step in to the limelight. It would be a great addition to see them holding up the extra time minutes and having subs stood next to them on the sidelines waiting to come on.

Net Effects: At the moment there is a defualt net style for every stadium in Fifa09 but in the real world nets are very different from stadium to stadium and country to country. 3 or 4 different net styles would hugely add to the realism of the game and make each stadium stand out a little more. After all we don't see much of the stands when actually in a Fifa match.

Feel free to add some more ideas and thoughts in the comments.

    Here's my ideas:
    • More goalkeeper kits and maybe add 2 goalkeepers kits for each teams than one.
    • Goalkeepers should be able to kick the ball further and higher (also for goalkicks).
    • Goalkeepers knows where the post is.
    • Kits to be made perfectly (no errors as there are lots of kit errors at FIFA 09
    • Kit lettering and numbering should look exactly the same in the game e.g. Coca Cola leagues, Ligue 1 etc.
    • More stadiums, got a huge list of stadium that could be added into the next game:

    • Knockout tournaments on online

    Interesting Online idea (Knockout stages)

I also made this idea, that a player could make spin from their pass, cross or shot and how it could be used in the next game.

    Here are my ideas:

I think that they could make the kits more authentic, for example:
    • Custom kit selection like in PES, where you can chose your home top, away shorts and home socks, etc.
    • Also, because the FA Cup is licensed, I think that when you are playing in the FA Cup your team should where 1 sleeve badge to represent your league and 1 FA Cup sleeve badge. When you play in the final of a tournament, your kits should have the special embroidery on them.
    • When you are relegated from the Premier League your sleeve badge should change to a Coca Cola Championship badge.
    Match times:
    • Make the Domestic Cup Finals during the day at all times and all European Cup games at night.
    • Your players should go on International duty whenever their country needs them to play.
A Boot Shop like the NBA games had the Shoe Shop where you could buy every shoe in every colour, but in this case, whenever you buy a pair of boots, you should be able to unlock every single colour that boot is available in, for example:

    • Buy Adidas F50i for 2000 Pts = Adidas F50i in Blue, White, Black, Green, Black/Gold. Plus boot custom colour with embroidery.
    More customisation options, for example:
    • Choose a hairstyle, then choose the exact length of hair, Club crest on wristbands, high, medium or low socks, full ankle sock tape, finger tape, rolled up sleeves, base layer & compression shorts, tattoos, real GK gloves. neck warmers, caps for GK.
When a player has a minor injury, for example:
    • sprained wrist, he should still be able to play for you but wear wrist protection.
    Real injuries:
    • broken bones, torn muscles and tendonitis.
