What I want from Fifa10's Manager Mode: Part 1
Now just to start off I'd like to say this is my first blog on any forum or website ever, so bare with me!
I also just want to say what a great game I think Fifa09 is, there are problems yes and these are all well documented throughout this forum. But the reality is, no game is ever perfect particularly sports simulation and even if it was we'd have nothing to write about.
I'm going to be basing this Blog Series on the staple of any Football game "Manager Mode"
Quite simply for MM to be a success in Fifa10 it needs a total overhaul, we've been stuck with the same product for years now and it's time for radical change.
Right i'll start with dynamic weather and day and night cycles. This has to be in Fifa10 this year I can't comprehend another season without this simple feature. If I see one more bright sunny day on a european night I will officially implode. At the moment the realism of MM is totally destroyed by this alone and the fact that all this is currently available in BAP Seasons only adds to the confusion. Surely it's the same or similar coding??
The second is after suffering a season of sunny days and nights, the anti climax of actually winning anything is a tough pill to swallow. After dragging my team from obscurity to League Champions is surely a god like triumph? My managerial prowess should be heralded throught the football world and rose petals should fall from the sky and .........
Or in reality I recieve a Congratulations message and no cutscene containing anything remotely like a trophy. Any offline player can invest some serious hours in to MM and to not have any kind of serious recognition of your achievements is soul destroying. This is something PES has done brilliantly for years and it's now time EA stepped up to the plate. I want the trophy ceremony on the pitch, the lap of honour, the photos in front of the add boards, champagne the works.
Some kind of media article after all this and a realistic response from the board and supporters would also be welcome. EA look at your closest rival and take note.
Right well that was surprisingly easy, let me know what you think and I'll post part 2 if anyones at all interested.
