Default OMG, say this ain't BF3

BBC NEWS | Technology | EA pushes ad-backed video games

Quote:
Electronic Arts is to release a free online version of the popular Battlefield game to be supported by adverts and micro payments.
I hope they still plan a regular BF3 and not this crap that, and i quote.

The games has a "cartoon-feel" and has been made simpler to play, with more emphasis on participation and fun than skill and strategy.
NOOBS rejoice, you got a game you may not suck at.

I'll move this over to the Battlefield Heroes forum for you. If you check Omni's post at the top of the forum Introducing Battlefield Heroes, you'll see mentions it's not Battlefield 3.

this 'game' will likely be a disgrace to add to EA's other crowning 'victories'.

actually I might have a look around for the source code of 'frogger', it can be free, runs on an old PC then I just need to stick loads of crazy frog adverts etc., in it to generate me millions and am sure it will take the world by storm.

Today EA has sunk even lower in my opinion, not that they'll care.

Be prepared to have your details culled, your IE history examined & adverts tailored to your demographic streamed down to your PC whilst you play. Big brother will be watching.

No thanks EA, the price will be too high. Not to mention, Battlefield 2 with its flawed hit detection & dumbed down weapons is cartoon enough for me. One for the kids & the people with no skill who moaned to get the GL & all the other weapons nerfed to the jokes that they are now.

I find it rather amusing, considering how TF2 has been such a nice hit, this has potential (TF2 isn't the first comic style game, and BF Heroes wont be the last, so the comparison ends there really).

My big relief is that it is NOT Battlefield 3. Can't wait to hear about that one.

Any pictures of Heroes are from Heroes. Pictures you might have seen of Battlefield 3 are mostly beta pictures from Battlefield 2 (the Jet one is very prominent, that is actually the central hill in Zatar Wetlands) or also very popular from Battlefield Modern Combat.

Looks to me that Bad Company is a glimpse at what to expect for BF3,works beautifully on my PS3 and is sooo much the next PC title,DICE would be brain dead if this wasn't going to happen.
