Default Need a gentle push to purchase BFBC

Well, I recently purchased Modern Warfare 2 and will simply say I feel like a fool for falling into the hype and mistakenly believing it would pull me in as MW1 did.
So, as I wait for either and update to MW2 or perhaps to sell the game I need a fun FPS to play.
I purchased BF1943 for my 360 and absolutely loved it, having not touched a BF game since well...BF1942. Not to mention I forgot how good I was at that style of play. So now I find myself debating whether I should jump into BFBC or perhaps wait for the second installment next year.

so this I ask of all of you, does the game have lasting appeal, is the multiplayer fun and skill based? (I do not want to play another game with no recoil/no sway guns and 2 hit kills with con deluded map designs) and most importantly, does the game have a good community?

Well I can say I've been playing it pretty solidly since it came out back in September of 08.

You will meet some good people and some bad but its just the same with any game.

I would recommend it to you.

*Push* Go get it, it's definitely worth it. BFBC has its fair share of lalalalalalalas but the game itself is great, despite few exploitable bugs. I usually tend to play games for around month or two at best before getting bored, while BC has been in my disc tray for a little over year. And the good community is this forum, imo.

all a matter of personal preferences! i guess u can be disappointed of BC same as MW2!
the game is great and there is a solid community if u can catch some of the forum people here!
as far as i know at the moment there are some major problems with stats keeping and unlock of weapons!
so if u can get it at a good proce u should get it and tr it out, but the demo of BC2 is near ...!

Don't bother if you want to level up and unlock weapons. BFBC1 servers have been discontinued permanently to make room for BFBC2.

People are stil active on the forums and in game..... after almost a year.... so yes it has lasting appeal! ^^

I must warn you..... this game is highly adictive and after experiencing the distructable environment you can almost not go back too other games... it yust isn't the same rush that you get...!

Edit:
It's a good warming up for BFBC2....! ^^;

Discontinued? Does that mean only the base weapons are available?

He's full of s.. Probably one of the bitter ones who (temporarily?) lost unlocks / rank in the recent server hiccups. So, no, it's not discontinued.

I play on the 360 and have all my unlocks. The problem reported above relates to the PS3 and is a temporary one.

If you liked 1943 you will also like BC. BC is more difficult due to more complex map layouts that give more opportunities for ambushes. There are many idiots on this game but also some very good players. If you land on the idiot side of a battle it's frustrating, but when you have a decent team it is one of the best experiences to be had.

I thought the beta keys were only for ps3! Hell, if someone was to give me the beta key I'd go buy BFBC right now >.>

As far as the game being difficult; that does not bother me. I just want to play a game that rewards "skill"(hating using the word skill when relating to games -_-), rather than watering itself down so everyone is "good".

Why not buy bfbc 2? Bfbc is going to die completely when bfbc hits stores in March.

It costs next to nothing these days. Just go out and get it.

I know what you mean about MW2. Hype and cheap supermarket prices suckered me in. Spray and pray isn't my thing anymore though.

It's a big shove not a gentle push from me.

March is still a few months away and I don't want to sit on my hands from now till then looking for something to do. Granted I COULD go out and get something like boarderlands, but I'm itching for a good player vs player experience.

I find the only mode I enjoy in that game is Hardcore. Though even then it frustrates me due to the pinpoint accuracy of a pistol from across a map. Oh well. I supposed I could just walk to the gamestop around the corner and pick up the game for a reasonable price.

Though of course an alternative is to wait till next month and try out the PC Beta of BFBC2, even though I'll be sticking to the 360 as my platform (I like playing games on my TV =/ and the wife doesn't hate console games nearly as much as she hates PC games. )

Do it.

I blow at MW2 and use its case for a bookend now.

You meet the right people and the fun never ends.

Send out FR's to forums goers and you are sure to have fun.

This is very helpful, thanks. Battlefield 1943 was really the first multiplayer FPS I really enjoyed, but maybe it was the simplicity of it which drew me too it. It's also the first Battlefield game I ever played so maybe that is part of it also.

I really want 1943 to last forever, but I know most will be moving towards BC2 so it's probably best for people like me to get on BC1 to get used to the more complex gameplay. If you see me online please go easy on me

Well since your on xbox360, it's a must get. Alot more people aka full servers on it than ps3, skilled is varied so you can either pwn noobs, or have a rough time on certain maps.

But yes, must get, and we'll teach you how to own noobs.

BC1 is a lot better than 1943. I say get it for sure! And get BC2 when it comes out next year! Trust me, you won't regret it.

When you get BFBC, you notice that time seems to speed up and you actually lose hours upon hours of your life. It's just that addicting!
