Photomode Errors thread

Hi,

I've noticed that some of you are having Photomode problems and I'd like to gather more information.

Please post the following:

1. Gamertag/Console - Please note if you have changed your Gamertag at some point while active in BFBC.

2. When you take a photo in-game does it upload successfully? If no, describe what happens instead.

3. On the website do your Unsaved Photos load? If no, describe what happens instead.

4. On the website do your Saved Photos load? If no, describe what happens instead.

5. On the website, the pictures load and save, but cannot be deleted. Please describe how you save and attempt to delete photos.

Mine seems to be working fairly normally today (just very slow to load photos 4-10) but I was having problems last week.

2. Photos seem to be taken successfully in game with no error message

Mine seems to be working fairly normally today but last week the first 3 unsaved photos work fine but the others all have the small white box with red cross in the top left hand corner whilst the mini-window they should appear in continues to have the flashing bars as if it were still loading.



4. If I tried to save the ones as the above picture then I just get the small white box with red cross in the top left hand corner. If the thumbnail showed up then it would save and display it normally.

We made some adjustments and the loading of unsaved photos should be fixed now.

I am unable to delete the pictures I take.
I go to the website, save a picture. then sign out of the web site.
on another pc i sign in and delete the picture...it goes back into the list of pictures to save.
this way the old pictures block up the new pictures

That sounds like a seperate issue from the picture loading issue, so I'll add it to the list in the first post.

I have had this issue of none deletion since the photo mode came out.

Along the same lines:
Sometimes I delete a old picture, then a new image shows up in the "save" area.
However when I click save that picture vanishes and the old deleted pic comes back.

1)I take tons of pics in bfbc
2)new pics dont show in the "unsaved bucket"
3)I delete a old picture
4)that old picture now is in the "unsaved bucket"
So I go round and round in circles deleting the same old pic hoping to get my new pics.

second issue

Yeah, I've pretty much always had that. Tried clearing the cache and all sorts of stuff. Gave up pretty much and keep everything in the unsaved section. I just keep a copy on my PC. Any new photos just overwrite the older ones.

By the way, the dates on the photos are all to **** as well. No big deal really but thought I'd mention it.

Well it sounds like we need to really delete the photos you guys delete, instead of returning them to the "unsaved" bucket.

I'd like to know more about the messed up dates on the photos.

Just curious here.
Does the frostbite engine support in game video recording (like in halo 3)?
I always wondered if console devs put recording software into early versions of the game so they can watch replays to work out bugs etc...or if they just hookup the 360 to a pc that records the video.

I'm not sure that Frostbite does in-game engine recording. I know our old engine did. Even if Frostbite has it, I'm not sure if it will be in our upcoming games. Other EA games have video now, but they use different engines.

For video recording of our trailers/videos, I think we have several options, but whether or not it is pushed through the 360 probably depends on if that is the only platform we can view it on. Our video department is quite serious about what they do and will rig whatever is needed to get the best quality possible.

Shows up in my saved pics as Date taken: 7/18/2008 but I know I actually took it on 3/02/2009

Well, actually that was me! As I'm starting to get a little better flying I'm trying to get roadkills in the helo. Anyway, our team had taken the first base on Oasis and I jumped in the Apache. As I took off I noticed a Recon running across our new base so I dropped back down to flatten him. Unfortunately I clipped something and decided to bail. Shot the guy and turned back to find my helo parked up. Only problem was I couldn't get back into it......

I had a similar problem. ZonalFear pointed me in the right direction. You need to go to the EA.com site and log into it under your main account. Their is an option for receiving messages that need to be checked. this way when you tried to link the gamer tag that it send you the confirmation email. That is what helped me get my thrird Gamer Tag linked.

By the way I used the UK version which seemed to work better for me. Here is the link to it. http://www.eagames.co.uk/

2. No, it gets really laggy as it uploads only for it to say UPLOAD FAILED

3. No, I've taken photos recently and my photo cache is still empty

4. Yes, they load

5. The photos stay there and they delete by themselves eventually. If they are in the unsaved photos pile I will save them...once they are in the saved photos files and I decide to delete them they go back to the unsaved photos pile and that is where they eventually delete on their own.



Right now, my major issue is linking my persona to another separate email. It won't even add to an already existing account either.

3. I get the "blank" with the white box/red cross. If I click on the left or right arrow, I can see previously deleted photos and, very occasionally, more recent unsaved ones but never more than 1 or 2. "New" photos are generally ones I've taken 2 or 3 days previously.

4. Yes. Previously saved photos load quickly.

5. If I want to keep a photo, I use Right-click "Save image as" and save the JPeg on my local hard drive (PC). To delete, I use the "Delete" option under the saved photo.

6. My 2 latest successful saves are dated 9/20/08 and 9/23/08. They were taken on Sat 14th March. I took 2 on the 16th but they haven't shown up yet.

I am sorry that what I suggested first did not work.
Their is another option that under that one that says this. "Share my info with select EA partners."
Try that one and see if it works. When I did mine I check both options and was not sure of which one it was. So I assumed that it was just that one. It may have to be both. Because after all DICE is a partner of EA sort of speak. So they both may have to be checked. If this helps please let me know.


On this last line you have here. If what you mean is that you are having issues trying to change the email address for a persona.:

With the PSN you can only have one account per email address. Each PSN account; even a sub account; must have separate email addresses. You would have to change those emails for those persona's within the PSN account management for each account through your PS3.
For your main EA account you can change that email address through the EA Account Management. Which I find the easiest way to get to it is through the US forums login. You should be able to change the main email address through their.
For you other persona's you need to go through their correlating areas where you made them. So like Spore through the Spore game I think. BF2 is done through GameSpy. The BF Heroes is done through their site. That would be the persona with EA.ID behind it. Etc., etc.,. That is how you are supposed to manage that part of the individual persona's.
OH and obviously XBL would be don through the XBox.
