Default Insider News Pt. 1

Hi Bad Company Baddies,

I thought I would give you some hints and info I can share. First, the hint is I look forward to a relaxing Friday next week and I will most likely take Monday and Tuesday off the week after next.

Second, servers instances have been reduced to 12 per machine from 15 and some extra servers added to Europe for the PS3 to handle peak play times and keep players in Europe, well, in Europe.

Third, some really cool videos will be coming soon to give a better perspective of how the maps play.

... and third is some changes that will come in the update. An official list will come soon on the main site.

· Increased Ticket count for all Conquest maps to make for longer rounds
· Find custom match on Conquest was fixed
· Knife melee no longer instantly kills friendly’s and will take two swipes
· Bullets and knives now go through undergrowth and trees leafs
· Shotgun damage in distance reduced, but is still just as powerful in closer range
· Savior Trophy requirements tweaked, awarded when you kill an enemy that attack a teammate and damaged them by 20% or more
· Drawing weapon time after sprinting is reduced to SP times to improve pace of action
· AA guns have less deviation and more damage to improve balance vs Gunships

Helicopters
-Lowered hand weapons damage against Gunships, but .50 Cal weapons on Vehicles retain their damage against the Gunships.
-Increased missile speeds for the pilot
-Gunner MG’s time to overheat increased with splash damage reduced
-Gunships wont explode when touching one trees and now have a damage multiplier based on the speed of the Gunship. This means if you are flying very slow you can knock over trees and take Zero damage, but if you're at top speed 4-5 trees will destroy your Gunship.

We have really looked into these adjustments and they only make the play better, so don't freak out.

Awesome - thanks a lot!

I get fed up with the NS2000 crew killing me from 20 feet away. XD

The spawning on Goldrush could be tweaked though perhaps.

Overall a decent lot of changes, but I'm concerned about the savior one - you've made an already difficult trophy even harder to obtain.

Other than that, these are fantastic changes - in particular the 2 swipes kill on teammates for the knife, and reduced MG damage to Helicopters. Might make the AA finally effective against the choppers as well.

I forgot to add we have hired a new Community Manager for Battlefield Bad Company that is really good and very qualified. You'll meet this new Community manager sometime in November. This means more and better feedback to issue, questions, and concerns, and better written updates with more frequency. My goal is to do the most I can with the tools and resources I have to make your experience the best possible. That I can promise.

Heh, I figured thats what you meant because I saw the earlier interview saying that the savior trophy would be easier to obtain.

Hey gordon, keep an eye on my poll

Wow, I'm excited. The less damage the MG can do against the helicopter is awesome and the shotgun distance is a great update!

I will GLADLY pay for a good new map pack for goldrush

I think that conquest + its soon to be 8 maps should have been free DLC because, quite frankly, it seems part of the core game. Kinda like finishing after release. You have never confirmed me on this Gordon, but I have also said it a lot, and you have never contradicted it either... a lot can be read by silence Not that I mind of course, I am glad to have been able to play all this time while you, IMO, finish the game, rather than STILL be waiting on it.

Anyways, I would LOVE to see new goldrush maps. new unlockables might be cool, but really all I expect to see is new map packs and balance+glitch fixes

Can you explain the new Saviour Trophy tweaks a bit more Gordon? The way you have it worded makes it seem like you would immediately get a Saviour Trophy for saving someone.

If I kill a guy shooting at someone on my team, doing 20% or more damage, I get Savior Points that goes toward a Trophy, correct? Is it still +5 savious points for saving someone, or was it changed to award more (this news item indicates that savior points will be worth +15)? Do you still need to get +30 savior points in a round to get a saviour trophy?

No, I think it means that the enemy target must do 20% damage to your teammate, then if you kill him you get savior.

As far as I understand anyways

I have this trophy already, will I have to do it again?

I hope the glitch that makes your kit selection revert back to default when you respawn is fixed. As well as the C4 glitch on moving targets that blows you up instead.
