Default Bad Company 1.5 - THE DEFINITIVE RELEASE

Due to recent revelations by DICE producer Gordon Van Dyke, the
Bad Company Community now fully understands why Clan Support
will likely never be added to this title - Microsoft policy.

Not to mention the hordes of fans demanding to know why this
feature was left out in the first place, a wave of anger and discontent
seeming to reach and shake the very foundations of DICE's
headquarters in Sweden.

So this I propose:

Many fans simply will not wait 2 years for the Bad Company sequel, and
since features can't be added to the present title, why not create an
Interim title to fill the gap between the original BC and it's successor?
Add everything the fans wanted to begin with - maybe more. And
if you registered your copy of BC on the Veteran's site first time around,
you get the Interim 1.5 title half price.

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on this - in theory it sounds like
an ideal compromise but I'm aware it's not that easy in reality!

hes talking about the patch can only be 4mb total, so they cant add major change of private rooms in the current title. the microsoft policy is the 4mb limit. maybe sony has simular limit.

depends on what would be planned for future version, say private rooms was added to normal version and rereleased how many would really buy it.

GVD only mentioned the Xbox limit as a major factor though, so I'm
guessing it's little to do with Sony's update policy.

It would be pointless re-releasing the game with just private rooms
added! I'm talking about loads of cool stuff man...

Like more maps for Goldrush and Conquest,
Some added BF2 maps like that Karkand one folk keep mentioning,
Dynamic Weather,
An additional faction in multiplayer,
More Vehicles,
More game modes!!!

Like a frikkin Director's Cut dude! XD

They wont even give us any form of clan suport or private rooms even tho it IS possible.so id eat my own turds if they will bring out a hole new slightly updated version of BFBC.

It is technologically very possible. Microsoft is not to blame, DICE is. DICE I'm guessing simply does not believe the money invested would be worthwhile. This is extremely short sighted on there part IMO, as the game is dying already, and will continue to slump further as more games with clan features come out.

In the end DICE will pay the price of ignoring their fans. The question is, will they notice the loss in light of all the copies already sold. Probably not..

I like the idea but I see very little chance of it happening. If DICE did this they'd be as much admitting their failure in making BF:BC. And people that already bought BF:BC would get angry at having to buy another copy. Big PR fail for EA.

I expect to see a new Battlefield game for consoles late 2009/early 2010.

So hang on Grey - you think GVD is just flat out lying?
It's clear those features shouldn't have been left out to begin with,
but M$ isn't giving DICE a chance to rectify things - in short they're
ruining it for both consoles.

I'm confident an Interim version of Bad Company could be put out
much quicker with minimum development time because all of the
foundations have already been laid.

And I do see what you mean Norm - but putting a positive spin
on it such as "More Bad Company, a tribute to the fans for half
price etc etc..." Would allow them to save face at least. XD

the ps3 doesnt have any limit on update size so if it is due to microsoft putting a limit on their patch sizes then that just seems silly to me, why limit the size of an update? if a developer wants to make an update let them, dont limit the size of it.

Maybe this is why Xbox is cheaper than PS3???

This is done so people that only have a memory card (I think the smallest was 64MB) to access Xbox Live can still benefit from the update. Instead of assuming everybody has a HDD.

I've personally downloaded update patches on the PS3 that have exceed 300MB...

The patch for SOCOM is nearly 500mb.

So yes, the PS3 can exceed 4Mb. (4Mb?! Man, I can store a thousand times that on my keychain).

MS is a bunch of proprietary... uhm... brothel employees

4MB is ridiculous, as is only ALLOWING an xbox to store up to 4 updates TOTAL. I could see that limit on xbox's without the HDD< but lalala I payed an extra $100 for the complete XBOX, why should I suffer cause they sell a barebones version for $100 less???

Makes me wish I saved the money since all the HDD is good for is downloading demos.

I hate MS.

I really do.

Lol you played the cod5 beta? its terrible and the tanks are a joke, how people can come on hear and moan?. You want to check out the molitov cocktail in cod5 then see how you feel about BC.With a bit luck maybe they can do something about team coms in bfbc but i would rather the squad based system then the lag and host advantage that effects cod4.1001 more things going on in bfbc per second compared to cod and its still plays better.

I only prefer the COD series in single player. Their Multi-player games are too much of a Wash And Repeat game play for me. Unless they change the feel of their Multi-player games; I will not be playing it much in multi-player.
Thats why the BF series has been so successful. It has a feeling that keeps bringing people back to it. It is not the same stuff over and over again. At least the PC versions of battlefield are like this.

Yeah, I don't think I could go back to COD4 after playing Bad Company -
and I doubt COD5 will change that, but that said I might give it a try
somewhere down the line.

Given the results of the poll thusfar, I'd be interested to hear Gordon's
view on the idea. =]
