Helicopters Damage rate

Ea need to sort out the damage rate because i got shot down with a sniper with full health. i hit one tree and then committed suicide (accident).

Gotta say I was doing nicely on Oasis tonight, keeping an eye on my heli health. It stayed at 98% for ages, then jumped to 13, then.. bang I was dead, in mere seconds. I'm guessing it was more to do with lag than weponary, but annoying all the same.

hitting a tree and commiting suicide makes sense.

Maybe the sniper hit your prop? That would make sense, I will have to give that a try

It is possible to headshot the pilot with sniper rifle, managed it a couple of times not easy though.

No it isnt, I have lined up that shot on pilots grounded so I KNOW I made it, nothin, bounces right off the glass

I think the rockets are a bit too weak aswel, they are basically the same sort of thing as the rpgs arent they? cept for some reason they are 20 gizillion times weaker

No u cant.You could in the PC versions of BF tho.

You can head shot thru windows of any vehicals with where the enemy can be seen sept the heli.

I remember getting kills though Humvee windows in BF2 but I was sure you could only get head shots on pilots with the better rifles the M95 and L96A1 man I loved that last rifle, the sound

Also the AA guns seems a bit feeble against Heli's, i shot the hell outta heli on End of the line and just managed to bring it down, then i flew over a tank who destyored me in seconds with their machine gun?!?

well, a 50 cal machine gun would shred a helo, the AA could do more damage, though the biggest thing about the AA gun is its spray, its IMPOSSIBLE to be accurate with it, so unless the helo is really close, most of the shots are going to miss.

50 Cals have the same accuracy problem, however your refferring to flying right over it, where it doesn't matter. Also, there may have been a support gunner shooting you at the same time as well, I know I do that a lot.

You can head-shot through the window of a heli. But, from what I have seen from trying it, it depends on which rifle you choose!! I think it's the M65?? rifle that I have used to get head shots, both on the ground and at low level in the air. Other rifles, and the rounds are obviously blanks, as they don't do zip.

I use the support class to shoot out the heli's, takes a while (provided I can hit just below the rotars), but I can throw out the medi-packs to the team, along with dropping the mortar when the pilot decides to head back to base for repairs.

not in bad company, u cannot snipe heli pilots out of helis, its not even in the game design to do so, so it cannot be done.
Being in the top 90 heli plots.. u must take my word for it, its all i do. heli heli heli lol.

ive seen snipers trying loads of times, just bullet marks n cracks.. deffo can never be sniped out bullet proof windows but a sniper can take out a heli by hitting the rotar for maximum damage with a pistol lmao - so dice need to fix that!

if a m95 can't shoot through the glass, a pistol cannot bring down a fully loaded apache.. u see the original posters point now ??

I agree, certain guns should not be able to damage the chopper. I was taken down by a sniper shot the other day, it was ridiculous. The only rifle that should be able to damage the chopper is the M95. The amount of damage the LMG's do to the chopper is also a little extreme, they're only a little less effective than the 50cal tank guns which I think are about right as far as damage capability. They really need to tone down the LMG damage though.

If nothing changes as far as the amount of damage the chopper can take then I suggest you just change the way you fly and don't be so aggressive, especially on Conquest...people forget that you can fly low and play defense a lot of the time with a chopper and last a very long time.

50 cal's DO count as anti vechiles SO i would guess he hit something vital like fuel Choppers are built weak to move faster

The Ah-64 has its most vulnerable parts protected by armour against shots of up to 23mm caliber.
The m95 uses 12.7 x 99 mm (.50BMG). It may not penetrate in real life...but this is a game

also hitting 1 tree would likely cause a instant crash so im fine with that

btw im FXMAN. Seriously tho one tree and it blows up, its stupid, and you lose 10 points. I also got shot down by a pistol.

I think going into trees is ya own fault and an acceptable -10 points for your mistake.
I think that makes u more aware that u will lose points if u fly into a tree, so it hopefully tries to teach u not to.

The heli damage rate shud be x 2, its game yer, but the ah 64 is one mean machine in war.. and has been very dominent (spelling?) in other previous titles.

I would like to see a increase of heli damage, it shud be something you run away from not fire at with a pistol lol.

M95 as in BF2 shoots through cockpit glass no problem

Have been shot several times by a camping sniper in BC.

Happens all the time on BF2.

It’s very hard and very rare to do it whilst chopper is air born but is possible and immensely satisfying

Although taken them out with your rocket launcher is far more fun and I normally get one or two kills a night with my launcher against helicopters

yesterday i tried shooting a enemy in a chopper and he didn't die
