"This is one of the many reason why I bought my PS3 over the Xbox 360. I think both are fantastic machines, but the Xbox has way more limitations in means of updates and download content than the PS3 at this stage and the least painful of systems for a PC gamer to move to IMO."

Haha be careful where you say that Lex! Also, it's odd I can quote everyone
else's posts except yours...

I'd like to see more in-game stat tracking included, such as the distance your
kills are made at - especially interesting for snipers. For instance, on Valley
Run I got a headshot kill from the top of the crane on someone on the top
of the dome at their second base. I wanna know how far that was! XD

(How bizarre, I could quote Lex AFTER I posted this. :S)

Lol, you're only a sniper who-ha if you actually have
the word "Sniper" in your PSN. XD

I've came across guys on BF called things like GhostSniper666,
Silentsniper, Megasniper, blah blah... Only a few were
actually proficient!!

We should petition for stat tracking like that I think, even have a
leaderboard for furthest kill.

Plus!! I have an idea for a new patch to earn: make a sniper kill
from atop a crane and you get one called...

"Mile High Club!"

Super-duper or what!? =)

I need to trade BFBC in because of FIFA coming out. frankly, I don't play BFBC any more so keeping it would be silly. Unfortunately it's come just too late to keep me playing.
youll be missed, good luck with fifa.

thanks for the info, about the forthcoming info omni

however, as some have said if this is to sort out the issues that we have been asking to be sorted for god knows how long it may be a little too late look at the response on this thread, harldy a lot, the community is nowhere near as active as in the begining (fickle us gamers are) people are/have traded, sold , turned into a clock or done whatever with their copy of bc.

if this is aimed at the forum visitors who have been shouting about this, i think most of them have got the hump and gone, most of the people left here are the ones who are happy with the game.

i put a post about this info about some info on my forum..the responses ranged from "mines allready gone on ebay" to " will you stop banging on about this non-existent patch"

note to ea...please keep your community better informed in future

They deserve to lose its community, our community also has all moved back to COD4 some sold the game some getting dusty on their shelf.

For EA's sake i hope this news it good news but im expecting the usual we are proud to announce yet an other FREE map pack is available to download this is our next step to kill our game further.

Sort it out EA 800 million cash and you can't even keep your community up to date

For now back to a clean great game of COD4.

CoD4 is okay, but no where near the complexity of BF:BC. I rather play with glitches than in a game with maps the size of a small box with the worst ability/option in FPS history, the grenade dropping after being killed. When I realized that was why I kept dying I put that game down and never touched it again and never will unless it was removed.

But it is still one of the top games played with no bugs.

i have actually tried to go back to cod4 but its boring now imo

it was nice to play in a lag free environment, but that lag free environment kept me interested for all of 20 mins, its like a switch has been flicked in my head from loving call of duty and playing it all the time, to now actually not liking it at all

And with COD5 and Resistance 2 etc, all looming large on the horizon
DICE had better do something - and fast.

News they hope we'll like? World Peace? The A-Team reforming?

"You're actually fixing the things we asked to be fixed!?"

"No! But we have more maps for you to run around like headless
chickens on! Isn't that great?"

"Erm..."

One wonders if this announcement regarding an announcement
isn't just a method to placate us, given our recent grievances...

thats nearly as funny as guy who said ps3 was better than 360 for handling updates etc.
you do know it makes a noise when it drops, and also there is little reason to stand on top of a dead enemy which increase danger of of it and less you play cod4 worse you will do when you do play it.

do you think your going to scare ea forum mods by going on about how a new game is coming out and people will rush off and buy it, shock horror new game comes out people always go and buy it. proof of this is if cod4 is so good why did so many buy bfbc and last time i checked bfbc was total different game to what cod5 will be. resistance was ok but had graphics of a doom on 360 arcade and doom on arcade was far cheaper.

Who says I'm trying to scare anyone? :s

And erm... COD5 and BFBC are both first person shooters so
they're not totally different!

I think you just have an attitude problem - folk are entitled to
their opinions and you don't own this forum so stop behaving like
you do, dissecting people's posts, criticizing and ridiculing what
they say. Don't like what I've said? TOUGH.

cod5 is ww2, bfbc is modern day, cod5 from what ive seen does not have tanks, jeeps, helicopters, artillary, apc's and its pretty safe to say it probably wont be played over big battlefields but will probably be more like scale of creek maps on cod4, as guess. im not criticizing you, im just pointing out your comparing two games which are nothing like the same thing, its like saying bfbc is same as mario kart.

anyway we will have to wait to see what news is when its out.
new maps to kill suckers on we know about so its bound to be something about either voice or clan support.

COD5 and BFBC are the same genre - different setting and
gameplay devices, but the core mechanics are the same -
First Person Shooter. MarioKart is a different genre entirely,
so my comparison isn't as far off as you make out! XD

I guess we'll find out soon enough what the big news is, let's
hope it's as big as they would have us believe.

Farcry 1 was very good at time it came out but didnt really try multiplayer at the time.

Not a major accomplishment when you're using the same basic engine for all the games you made that could (minus the lighting) have been on last gen systems. It has low poly objects, odd physics, and ugly soldier models. Also, it runs at 600P (1067x600), I don't even run tetris at that any more! So, in the end it i damn easy to make a bug free game when you've worked on the game without a new engine or adding anything inivative. With all that said the CoD4 team presented and nearly perfect package and experience for me in the singleplayer, but comparing its performce to BFBC is like comparing an Apple to a Papaya.

COD4 has such small quarters and fast action and I often find myself near an enemy player I killed or was killed. Stupidiest thing added to a online Multiplayer game ever!

I played Far Cry 2 on the PS3 in Leipzig and wasn't impressed, it is no better, worse, or different than anything else out besides going to Africa. I think I'd like it much better on the PC as the controls felt real bad IMO.

CoD5 will not really impact BFBC or CoD4, it will take CoD6 to break CoD4 of its massive amount of players. Slow weapons of WWII just don't appeal to people like the weapon of current times do. CoD5 will ride the sales wave of CoD4 fans and be put on the shelf quickly, but this is all my own personal speculation.

For the news update I guess we have to wait and see, I for one just want the lag fixed, everything else woul be frosting on the cake, but not needed.

Well with 6 million copies sold i would say it has been a great success for general play and is still one of the biggest games played does not matter how it is made it does the job PERFECT.

You miss the point, you compared it to BFBC and that is like comparing Apples to Papayas. They're not the same game unless you're shortsighted and stuck on the fact they are both FPS in current combat theme! BFBC is a way more complicated game than CoD4, but that does not say one is better over the other.
