Default Your feedback matters

We are happy to see that so many of you are playing Battlefield: Bad Company and having so much fun. The level of community interest in this game and its features is really visible, also through the amount of feedback various members of the development team have been receiving through their Live accounts, Facebook, emails, phone calls, faxes (People still use those??) on our forums and all the other channels out there.

Our Bad Company developers have been working a lot in the last two years and, we have managed to produce a game that we are very proud of. Even with the game already in stores, we would like to let you know that we are reading and listening to all of your feedback.

Right now the team is working on creating the Conquest game mode for Battlefield: Bad Company together with the conversion of the maps to go with it. The Conquest Pack is currently going through testing and certification.

We are very aware of the different issues you have told us you find most important. Therefore as soon as we’re done with the above there are several other points of your feedback which we’ll continue to investigate, without currently being able to say with certainty whether or not we will be able to include them. These include, but are not limited to:
  • Clan support/private rooms/team chat
  • Auto balancing on servers
  • Continued support against stats exploits
  • VOIP issue on PS3 (working with Sony on this)
  • Squads might be split up when joining a server as a squad. This is due to team balancing in the games that are being joined, and usually resolves itself in round 2.

/The Battlefield: Bad Company team

Thank you so much for all of your hard work at dice!
We are thankful for this update, and makes us hope for improvements of this already awesome game!

If you fix these minor problems you can be sure this game will be around for a long while!

But... the bad part lately..

Goodman, there are so many stats padders in the game It makes the leaderboards mean nothing... I mean i play lots of games where 2 guys are on the first base turning humvees upside down... And thats 2 guys that arent helping the team to win...

By the way, if i give you names of 3 stats padders from my country will you wipe theyre stats? I have exposed them on the ps3 official forum (portuguese subforum) and they say that we are the stupid ones for not using the glitch, and they just dont care... One of them has 70000+ points. 2 hours inside a humvee! (Aiding someone else padding of course..)

I think a stats wipe for padders is fair..

Anywho, clan support? Say yes ^_^

The game is amazing. im loving it so much!
I really get an adrenaline shot playing this! Keeps me going for hours!

Thank you goodman. And sorry for repeating a known problem but its so frustrating. A person earns theyre rank, by being a good marksman and being a good player, and then some guy spends the whole day fixing an upside down humvee and makes all your efforts seem worthless...

(But if you want theyre names dont hesitate)

I really appreciate the feedback.
However, I'm an American (not my fault) and had to find this through a link someone else provided since it wasn't posted on the American site.
Why does the American EA BF: BC website have absolutely no feedback from devs or EA? It was the same way with BF2. I think that a lot of bad feelings are made worse by the fact that there are very few, if any, responses to at least let us know that bugs are being addressed or even acknowledged. This is literally the first thing we have heard since the game was released.
More frequent updates would really be nice.
Sorry to vent, and thanks again.

thank you Goodman.
Announcements are certainly appreciated.

I luv the game. (PS3 user) Frostbite can only get better with the next implementation in the next new game. I'm looking forward to playing it.

Single player, I think I'm close to the end. (playing on Hard difficulty for the first time through it) It's challenging to be certain. those AI bots don't miss.

MP mode, only one issue that I'm sure you are aware of already: When spawning @ Squad, who is a Sniper using the anti vehicle weapon (bomb from way up high), I've spawned way up high. A funny fall to my death = suicide = -10 pts. = not so funny. This spawn issue and making sure the vehicle damage = 100%, 3 seconds after it is flipped over into an upside down position would be greatly appreciated.

cheers

PS: Is there any chance (not likely, but doesn't hurt to ask) of VOIP becoming location sensitive? (not an easy task, I'd guess, but the other innovative sound interactions that are in the game now are a great achievement) Proximity audible interactions, could result in whispering "Give me your DogTags" just before you knife an enemy Sniper who didn't see you creep up on him, or other funny sounds as you hide in a building in the enemy base area (mimicking Friday the 13th movie sounds when Jason is stalking: che che che ah ah ah, kill kill kill ah ah ah). Another example of proximity sound interactions could be having to yell during an Artillery attack in order for others to hear you. Maybe in Frostbite's next game. ^_^

+From my reading the USA forum (mostly), the most frequent examples of reasons for adding Team Speak ability is a short list, which could be addressed with a CommoRose assigned to the Right and Left directional pad buttons.
1) "I need a medic!"
2) "I need a ride!"
I've tried to ask for more reasons, but not many users seem to be able or willing to write a post longer than 3 words over there.

Default Firstly, thank you

Firstly thanks for creating a great game. Single player is incredible. However, the online play is pretty bad at the moment. I own a PS3 and would like you to give you some feedback on some of the issues I and my friends experience.

1. It's difficult for me and my friends to get in the same game. Message always says that the game is not available.

2. VOIP appears to lag out after about 5 minutes. I can still hear the static from the headset but it then becomes useless.

3. We need team chat. I understand the complexity around allowing everyone on the same team to chat but surely this is a must?

Can understand why you are working on the expansion pack first but if you could really look into these 3 issues we would really appreciate it.

Once again, thanks for a really great game.

Viper898

(ps, can I be a beta tester? PLEASE)

Thank you Goodman. Really, drop the ban hammer on those fools and don't forget to laugh when you do, it's the least you can do.

Just got the game today and i'm loving it, only played one game online which was a lot of fun. Done the first single player level too. Graphics are awesome, sound is awesome, level length is awesome.

Nice to hear that a new gametype is coming our way

One more thing if you could be so kind Goodman. Is there any way you could add something about the Film Grain Effect to that list? Something like a 1%-100% slider or an on/off or a even a 100% - 50% - 0% option? I really wanna feel like I'm on the battlefield, not like I'm watching it, so I'd love to be able to turn the effect off.

Thank you for all your hard work guys and an awesome, addicting, game.

Harsh but am sure we would all agree, cheaters have no place on live. It infruiates eveybody and spoils otheres people enjoyment of a great online experience.

personally i dont think it is harsh i think it is fair as i dont come online to play against a bunch of cheats. problem is XBL doesnt do much when you complain etc i know massive cheaters on cod4, i had nasty abuse hurled at me while playing the game, complained and nothing has ever happened. so for me it is justice.

Hi Goodman,

The points you raise here:

Clan support/private rooms/team chat
Auto balancing on servers
Continued support against stats exploits
VOIP issue on PS3 (working with Sony on this)

these are the major concerns at the moment, i know we all refer to battlefield 2 all the time which you must get sick off, but at the end of the day please look at that voip - its just works great.
Even if you could make squads in BF:BC and be able to talk to your squad and the other squad leaders that would be a feature that wud satisfy many.

Enough said really.. maybe u cud look at in the future this?

- new maps (inc a wake style map)
- more heli power.
- add a commo rose style thing for the ps3 d-pad (i need medic, giz a ride)
- add ranks to the players names above there head..

thanks and good work.
and i take it no idea on a conquest timeframe :P

i think that team ballancing should be introduced on gold rush and also there should be a syatem in that bans people from stat padding.and also put on a anti camping timer so people do not camp all map sniping.

Er no, sniping is supposed to about camping, go find them and kill them if you keep getting killed, they took prone out which is enough.

I have to agree with (oO Para Oo). Snipers are inherent campers. Yet; usually they relocate after a kill or two. It all depends on the situation. I had found a good spot that works for one map and stayed they for the whole game. I had got a lot of kills from that spot and was only noticed right at the end but still killed the few people that were trying to come at me.
I do wish their was prone but that wont happen.
