if they use the same crappy junk servers used on bc.. I will not buy the 360 version of the game and will only buy the PC version. it's a shame I have T1 level internet and that game is always the most laggy, skippy/jumpy gameplay servers I have ever seen.. and I remember a time before when myself and many others could not even sign in to play about a week after the game came out.. kept getting the can't connect lalalala. but everyother game ever created works perfectly including old modern combat and all other shooters.

They better step it up this time around.

Getting new servers won't fixed anything. Technology will always fail at its top performing peak.

They should place servers through out the world. Servers for U.S., U.K. and for our brothers down under.

That way it will fixed everyones lag problem.

True but if they fix it atleast it would improve the gameplay a little bit. If they put dedicated servers per country that would cost too much and its impractical.

I woud like some servers in europe to help reduce the lag.
its a bad idea to force everyone in the world to connect to the USA to play this game

I agree.. there should be servers in europe and non usa places.. WOuld only help everyone involved.. Even some of us USA players can"t connect half the time and when we do it's a lagcraptic session.. not always the easy to see lag of your screen bouncing.. but even the 1 second hard to see lag makes a huge difference in this game.

Europe is the new centre of the web world.

Publication: TV Meets the Web
Date: Thursday, September 5 2002

You are viewing page 1
TV MEETS THE WEB-(C)2002 Van Dusseldorp & Partners - vandusseldorp.com
Europe has become the new centre of the internet world, according to a report from the Internet Advertising Bureau, which shows internet penetration levels static throughout much of the rest of the world. Commenting to the Guardian newspaper, president of the IAB, Danny Meadows-Klue said,
"This is a turning point in the internet's development. The world's focus is shifting to Europe and the online media are coming of age. The fact that more people are now online in Europe than in the US is staggering and companies that understand the new economy are best placed to exploit these growing audiences."
Significant findings of the report are that Europeans now account for 32 per cent of all internet users, with 186m regularly logging on. 183m do so in America, while 168m users in the Asia-Pacific region use the web regularly.
Within Europe, Iceland has the highest penetration, with seven in ten people online. In the UK, over half the population have a regular connection.

The figures show that over the last 21 months, 174m new users have joined the web community, bringing totals to around 581m worldwide. ((Distributed via M2 Communications Ltd - M2 Home Page))
So if Europe was the centre of the Internet world in 2002 why do EA insist on basing their servers at their home base in the USA? Surely they would take the initiative and do what people have been suggesting on this post and put bases all over the world.

NO - it costs way too much money for them to purchase/rent server farms elsewhere.

Along with that EA, I'm sure, don't see BC2 as a long term investment they will not want to spend any more money than they need to to gain maximum profit so you can be assured that BC2 will be on the exact same server farm that BC was and all the other games that EA run as well.

I voted for better servers.
As I always want better more up to date servers.

As for lag. I am fine as I do not hardly get any lag at any of the the three locations that I stay at. Which are in different states across the US.

Yeah its fine depending on region. p2p is fine imo, but dedicated servers are always welcome...

I think it affects the PS3 gamers more than the 360 gamers. Dunno why, we've always guessed it was down to 360 gamers paying for online gaming.

I had the PS2 version of BF:MC when it came out, lagged as hell, constant mic problems, network errors, etc. As soon as I bought the 360 and the same game (BF:MC) all those problems ceased. With BF:BC on the PS3, everyone is posting the exact same issues I had on the PS2, yet, I have continued to use the 360 for BF:BC and once again, I have no issues.

Is it down to paying for online gaming?? You have to ask that question considering the PS gamers claim the PS3 is far superior than the 360 (guess it is in many ways), yet when it comes to BF titles, it sux.

The reason the 360 version of BFMC was better (Which should be obvious) is because your playing on a PS2, you can't compare a last gen system to a current gen. But for PS3 and 360, lag is the same really. They both use p2p and this is why they are the same. The reason it appears that the 360 lags less is because the majority of 360 owners are situated in North America, where as PS3 gamers are scattered around the globe. There is more lag for some PS3 gamers because most the BC servers are in North America. Does this make sense?
