Just read this on a few forum posts.. And are you guys being serious?
When and where was this confirmed? Can someone give me a link? I don't mean to sound like a ***, I have alot of confidence in DICE (Only thing I don't have in confidence in is EA forcing devs to rush games, not only DICE) But seriously? I don't think I've heard of one single person who doesn't have a 1-2 second "lag" attached to their game online.. and if its the same servers then damn, what the hell. Am I misunderstanding? Is it the same TYPE of servers that are new or are they actually reusing the servers, I remember the servers being alot better at release I believe.. Bad move either way in my opinion, new game = new servers. Thats my 2 cents thanks for the replies

I'm not sure about the 1-2 second lag... I'm playing from Australia and I seem to have no problem with it. There's only one time I've experienced actual lag like in the good ol days of 1942. Where are you playing from? Also, with the old/new server thing, who cares? if they work, they work. Just my 2c.

The lag i experience while playing is less than 0,5-1 second. However, that specific lag is what's killing me 9 times of 10. You all know it, you walk around a corner, and OH MY GOD... ENEMY, 12 o'clock!
You have you're smg or shotgun, you shoot him in the face or torso, from maybe 6 feet away, but YOU die. Human reaction time is about 1 second, so from that moment you see the enemy, it will take you at least 1 second to react. If you're robbed of that one second due to lag, the enemy will have 2 seconds to react. So even if you think you hit him, you've been dead for 1 second. This is also why it's smart to run up to someone and knife him, even if he can see you, you have 1 or 2 seconds before he retaliates. |

Yeah dude I'm from Sydney Australia.
Its not my connection, everything else I play is game free. My internet for my computer and my xbox360 live is always fully green on the meters, and I'm not the only one who experiences this.. read around, couldn't be bothered to post links ![]() But yeah it is annoying that I'm not as good as I could be, due to lag. Go knife a door and see how long it takes to break. And EDIT: I don't care, as long as they work exactly as you said >_> But obviously.. they are not working well enough, so it would be nice to have nice clean servers with no lag. |

Thats exactly our idea for the servers, like the old BF2 server search engine. Its better that way for all of us. Cause I live on Venezuela, and this game lags as hell.
Rooms per country/continent could be lalalalalala. (Duplicated, cause Im lazy ba$lalalala) 4 HUNDRED POSTS BABY!!!

Dude almost everywhere in the world has the internet :-\ I hate when people say that about Australia so yeah stop being ignorant :P
Anyway yeah, it would seem the guys without lag are in the US. I'm talking about people outside the US, mainly UK and Aussie players (From what I have read, not saying the rest of the world is O.K because they lag too) |

EA is probably like... we have players outside the US? It probably wouldn't be as bad if Micro$oft didn't dictate with their xbox live "gold" lalalala. I'm sure our ISP's would be happy to host xbox game servers, I mean iiNet the guys I'm with don't even count xbox live usage toward our quota. (All game demos/downloads, online play etc.)

I doubt they would host servers outside of the US because of xbox live poster above me, as someone said.
But they work FINE in the US for people outside of the US ****IF**** they aren't total lalalala, which they seem to be at the moment in time (Or very rusty) |

i experienced terrble lag when the game was first released. it was almost unplayable that i had to play the demo for a while.
After a few weeks past, the lag dissapeared as many kids got bored of the game and so the servers diddnt get overloaded. Thats P2P for you lads and the reason why i will get this game on the pc instead of the console. i can see why bf bc diddnt support 64 players |

They will take the offline off. Thats the only logical decision I can see or understand? If so they better also tell every single gamestore in the world to stop selling it, because thats just wrong..

They should use the same method of game finding as Kz2, you can select your game mode and size of mao and search whether you want 'My Region' (which you chose when you log in for the first time) or worldwide, so for me im UK so my region is EU, I think this way people get less lag and can choose if they want to play in a US server or just stick to thiers,
I think the regions are: US, Europe, Asia, AUS, and Middle East You choose what country ur in and also what timezone you are in. If BFBC2 did gamefinding like this it would be great. Last edited by AlExO_Ex0; 09-03-2009 at 05:08 PM.. |
