Most of the time I don't have lag but sometimes so it is out there. And I don't doubt its existence. I would like to see better servers used. AND better matchmaking. I'm tired of sitting in games that half of one team leave and is never replaced or sitting in a game where there are only three attackers and no one ever joins. It has gotten to the point of where policy dictates 4 or fewer enemy players on the attacker team and you leave because it'll probably take way too long to be worthwhile.

im from canada and when i get lag, i leave and its takes me no more then one try to find a server with no lag whtsoever..
people that are talking about never having played a game without lag, thats crazy talk.. compared to any other game where players host matchs, this is the only game i can say ive ever played with consitantly no lag. if you get lag all the time, get better internet or move. this is one of the smoothest games ever. |

I haven't had lag in a very long time. I'm in the UK (xB360). I had an american 2 nights ago screaming down the mic about lag; and the 'bl**dy British' causing it. So after a while, as no one else on the squad were saying anything, I piped up and said "Yo, I'm in the UK, no lag here, never have any lag!" The guy returned, "Yeah, it's your fault we have lag with your UK servers!" I replied, "How'd you work that out when EA have posted on their UK forums that the servers are based in the states?? Surely with us connecting from the UK or EU, that we'd be having the lag??" The guy just replied with "Erm." and nothing more as he obviously couldn't answer it.
We used to have EU/East/West servers being displayed on BF:Modern Combat. Now apparently from posts I've read in these forums at launch of BF:BC1 from EA/DICE Staff, that servers for the game are based in the USA; and if you do some serious Googling, you can actually find the server used by the company listed. I can't post a link as for some reason it sends you back to the search page, hence why I suggest searching google yourself for the EA/DICE servers. |

Most laggy game I have ever seen Modern combat ran much much smoother and better internet isn't a problem.. it's the cheap servers used. |

The question we should ask ourselves is, After the short amount of time Bad Company has been out..
Do you want BC2 to suffer the same extreme lag for 3/4 of the world after this short time? No we don't.. We want nice servers =(( Or ATLEAST give us the option to search/join games with local players before it searches for worldwide players.. it would make it so much better for us Aussies and the rest of the world alike!

But what's the strangest thing, is the majority of people suffering from lag and VOIP issues is the PS3 gamers. Even with Modern Combat, the PS2 gamers suffered the exact same issues, go figure that one!!
I had the PS2, got really fed up of the 360 gamers boasting that they had extra maps, updates, great VOIP, no lag, graphics far, far better on Modern Combat, that I eventually bit the bullet and got the 360, when back in the day only the RRoD 20Gb overheating version existed!! Boy were they right about the differences. Superb comms, no lag, better graphics. BFBC1 came along and the PS3 gamers started boasting at how their console version would be superior over the 360 - how wrong you all were!! I'm glad I didn't rush out and buy a PS3, as I had intended on getting it for BFBC, but held back. You seem to have the very same issues I had with BFMC on the PS2, yet, you have the next gen console considered by some, to be superior to the 360, but our version of BFBC seems to lack the issues you all face daily!! Maybe a lack of a Beta test for the PS3 users had something to do with it, who knows, all I know is, if it comes to deciding which console format to get BFBC2 on, it's going to be the 360. No disrespct to the PS3 gamers, but when it comes to BF games on it, your system seems to be pants at supporting it. Maybe EA/DICE and Sony can iron out their issues before it gets released to the public. We 360 gamers, always thought that the reason we had less issues was down to us paying for an online service. I wonder, if Sony began charging for server use like MS does, whether your issues would suddenly be resolved?!! D. |

small note here.
EA does operate bfbc gaming servers in europe, not just USA. However at times players get bumped to servers in regions far away. less than ideal but it happens
