EA Server and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Disconnect Status

After last nights EA server outage on PS3 and PC, EA have found the issue and put a fix in place and brought the servers back online. This means that both PS3 and PC players can return back to playing Bad Company 2.

We are aware of a number of remaining disconnect issues on PC and we have released the “R5” server to hosts yesterday to address some of the disconnects. We are continuing to work on the remaining disconnect issues to have a solution as fast as possible as well as looking into reports of other issues raised on the forums for consoles: http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk/battlefield-bad-company-2-ng/ and PC: http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk/battlefield-bad-company-2-pc/

Not yet, we still need to solve the server browser load issue that causes the browser to run slowly and other issues.

Baza, why don't you just make the Browser DON'T start refreshing at the moment you enter it, so many people just cancel it anyway and it might give a load of unecessary trafic. Just put a "All Servers" buttom at the browser so if people REALLY wants to see all servers they do so.

Please bring out a small patch as soon as thats fixed, because then you dont have all the whiners on here anymore AND you reduce the load on your servers!

well here in Holland i can connect to EA but there are apparently no servers and with no direct ip connection possible.........

Battlefield 2 has remained in the top 5 most played FPS games by player number on PC since launch even with new games being released. So the point is that BFBC2 has managed to beat one of the top online games.

It is possible for me to login to EA through the game so i can see Friends, stats etc..

But there are no servers showing after refresh, this was not the situation before the outage last night so the problem is not solved.

History shows played in servers as not on-line.

Change some of the filters and hit full refresh again, see if you get anything.

I strongly feel that everything bf2 did good bf2142 did better but the way was not accepted well by core bf2 players. Their loss.

So far bfbc2 has actually been a step back from bf2142 on team play. broken voip, mouse/video lag, and no squad leaders. Harder to tell what the order is and squads just don't have together to complete same goal.

How can I join a game? I've now installed BC2 since two days and I'm facing disconnects and more...

I want numbers. How many PC players are on during peak times contra Console players. How many PC sales, how many PS3 and 360 sales. I'm sick and tired of hearing that PC gaming is dead.
FPS games belong to PC. PC players tend to ride out more storm and also stick to same game for much longer.
I'll never play anything on console. I need my keyboard and mouse. I need my graphics.

i had this problem you describe yesterday...i kept trying servers and eventually i joined one. But this is a real issue...you hit join and the box comes up and then goes away and no server full msg or unable to connect msg, it just doesn't tell you anything.

That sounds like a server load issue
One of the things we are still working on.

also when i go for the 'Play now' option it can't find any games.

Im in Holland i don't know if that has any bearing.

You'll probably never get full sales figures because, unfortunately, Valve don't release any numbers for sales on their platform. The only figure that will be published will be retail store sales generally.
