TIP - Faster Server Browsing

To help speed up your server browsing these tips can help you get results quicker.

• Use Favourites/History when possible

If you use the server browser then

Use the server browser
When it starts to search click CANCEL

Select the options:

• Ranked
• Not Full
• Not Empty
• No Password
• Leave Punkbuster checked
• Hit Refresh

You can use your friends list in game to connect on them without accessing the server browser.

No disrespect but, I have been doing this ever since it was going slow... I found it out all on my own Lol. In all seriousness, this does work... BUT I have found that if you uncheck Punkbuster there are ALOT more servers... therefore you should be able to get into one for at least one round before having to search through them again, not sure if you can rejoin the same one, I didn't try. There is the risk that there could be a hacker or two in the server, but I haven't came across any so far!
EDIT: May have been luck that so many servers came up, but it is worth a try.

You can't join a Friend through steam.

Is the favorite thing supposed to work though? I have tried adding a server, but there is never anything in my server history or favorites?

Also, a little bug on the night snow map. If you are piloting the first UAV when the Mcom stations go, when you return to the UAV station you are immediately out of bounds and die (or is this a feature to stop over use of said uav )

Those tips didn't work so fine for me. Server Browser is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay slow, plus some servers just don't show up. I even tried using the search, to now avail.

Should I bring up the "where are my unlocks" subject to light?

And what about the "I need to add my friends several times for them to receive the request"?

Yes, the game is awesome, great job guys, but those issues are REALLY anoying.

And as halninekay said, you can't join a friend from steam. I sure tried this last night.

Yes, the game is awesome, great job guys, but those issues are REALLY anoying.

No offense but going on and on about the bugs/issues won't help to resolve them any quicker. Just sit tight and be patient... yes this is a hard thing to do when the game is brilliant when you are able to play, but it will be all better in a couple of days.

Does adding favorites work for anyone? For me it just fails to connect. I'm able to join some servers, but the favorites feature (and history) don't work at all.
I also don't understand how the filters work. When I apply all of the above filters, the total number of servers is reduced drastically (which makes sense) but not according to the filter criteria.

Using the STEAM interface to join friends, and browse servers would be SO nice. Unfortunately, despite what the post says at the top, you cannot use STEAM to join your friends. You can use it to launch the game they are playing, but I can just double-click the icon to do that, as well...

Yes bc2 is not fully integrated with steam, you can't jion through the steam friends list

yeah the joining friends directly from steam thing is incorrect.

Only problem for me is that I can't add servers to favourites and the history tab never shows anything. When trying to add to favourites it just sits on "waiting for data".

Any possibility of some type of region filter? Just select a box for your region to narrow down the list of possible servers it retrieves for you...

Thanks for this tip, but will you optimize your server-browser in the future?
-More filter options (e.g. Hardcore, Killcam, ...)
-Stream the server list, like Steam does or you did in BF2

People, he said the Friends list in-game.. that means through your Battlefield Friends list, not Steam.

Any tips for what to do if your Server History is always blank and adding servers to favourites prompts a full refresh as well as not adding them to favourites?
