OMG, another "here, change your router ports" thread ?" Cannot wait for the "fun of soldering" or the "joy of virus removal" threads. lol

Just hope it works better here than it did in beta

I will add those ports and report back.

I didn't say opening ports gives you viruses... and no, I shall never stop downloading pr0n lol

I just think this game should be configured correctly so you do not have to go in and mess with router, audio card, gpu, etc etc settings. My bad.

sure, but you can also group the ports together with commas. group all the TCP ports and then group udp ports.

So will this actually FIX anything?

Or is this just for a placebo effect? Since the game right now is either hit or miss, if your lucky, you'll get in to a server and stay there, and if not, well, wait until you do get lucky.

It MAY help a couple but they tried spilling this garbage to the people on the beta and it did nothing. (Trust me, I know)

How funny, when I was talking with Dice about the issue during beta, I was told to buy a new router or to stop playing it. Then they release a patch for the issue (that did NOT work) and are STILL posting nonsense about ports and routers and whatnot. Check the beta forum for yourself and you will see that this version is even worse than the beta.. what exactly was the point of the beta and what was supposedly fixed ?

They said the server browser was all fixed and shiny and new in retail vs. the beta version... oh really ? Looking at the threads on here I am doubting it.

Hard to believe I am a Dice fanboy huh ? lol I own every game they make for PC (not the Xbox only stuff though). I am hard on em because I have seen what they can do and it seems more like they have given up and do not care anymore.

Thats a firewall thing, not a game thing. Doesn't matter what DICE puts in their game, you still have to unblock ports.

Ya think ? Is that why EVERY other game I own (All BF games, CoD, Crysis, Bioshock, etc etc etc) ALL run fine without having to touch the router ? All the other games run with the aid of UPnP which opens and closes router connections as necessary for the game to run.. difference is, DICE never bothered to properly make the game just run properly.

Sorry, it was an inside joke.. I have been telling Dice (as have MANY others) about connectivity issues with their game and Dice told me to go buy a new router (even though it has NOTHING to do with my router NOR simply my type / brand of router) So now I tell everyone to just buy a new router and things will be just fine.
