Some BF3 news!

Perhaps more plausible some 1943 for PC news would be nice for those waiting. Can you just ask the guys what's up with the delay in PC 1943?

And in case I didn't mention it, some BF3 news would be wicked. We all know it's in development, but it's been soooooooooo long waiting for a true sequel to BF2.

I feel like I'm going to have kids by the time it actually comes out, and I'm a young guy!

@woo2: I like the idea and I'd go even further. More sections would it make easier to read the forums. There is another thread were we discussed that

Before it is to late, Suggest Real Ideas on how to work together DICE and Consumer.

Age 34 Almost not yet and not feeling happy about it, It's when we start to see our hair fall out then you would understand why older aged people get grumpy fast.

Currently working in Northern Africa on an
oilfield with Occidental Petroleum, Its good pay relaxing not doing much the people are nice and generous. Missing my Home town where born and raised Washington State. Will be back home February 17 2011

Ill go with a Filmed tour and You have sparked curiosity in me, I wonder how the hallway looks like ?. lol yes pleas that too zh1nt0.

And I really do feel that more and more people are looking for help with frustration thinking they are left out, So Posting more on different forums that are not English-speaking would help the BC2 community in general, No need to post info in there language just post it in English and they will translate it.

I also like the other ideas, especially the studio tour. When Battlefield 2142 was released, DICE published a video with a studio tour

Battlefield 2142 Behind the Scenes
Demize starting at 7:05.

What I found always gave a great insight into a dev studio are Developer Diaries. For those that don't know what I'm talking about, a dev diary would be a small update every week or so about the development of the game or in Bad Company 2's case, post-release support.

The post Kalms wrote a while back explaining the patching system would give you an idea of how a dev diary would be though it wouldn't have to be as long. I find dev diaries can calm any storms that might brew in the forums and go a long way towards showing how committed Dice are to the game.

For instance, a diary from Demize that talked about the hardships of trying to find the right weapon balance and his ideas and thoughts on how he envisioned the balance was going to turn out and how close he was able to get to that vision with the final product. Other diaries could give some insight into their choice of locations or their ideas behind particular maps or even some juicy information on how development of Vietnam is going.

Setting up a handful of official servers for the BC2 community and hosting tournaments on those servers regularly would also be great.

Oh yeah forgot the bio.

I'm 19 and work at my old high school working on the network. I play the grand theft auto series, the battlefield series, the splinter cell series, all blizzard entertainment games, and am getting a quad-core this week because of bad company and gta 4.

Ive suggested this myself a few times amongst variuos topics on these boards

Its almost essential to seperate yourself from the competition by doing this and or doing fabulous podcasts

A good podcast often is not only a good way fpor you to have a good laugh and a chat but to keep us in the loop with stuff going on.Top this with videos as well, the odd competition (can be for anything really BC2 related) and DICE becomes a fans favourite as it has more community input than the competition. You might want to make the BC2 web page a place for this and all things to be access from,as it is now i barely rememebr that you have one and remind myself how boring and usless it is when i do visit it.

It's really great to see this thread grow with a lot of different ideas and suggestions!

Since I'm the Community Manager, a lot of decisions regarding the Community goes via me. That means, a lot of decisions I found do-able.

There are however a few decisions which need to be run through several other channels such as dev-diaries, meetings and also the forum question with different sections. The forums are run by EA, not DICE.

I'm going to let this thread keep growing with your great ideas and in the meanwhile I will start sketching on different plans and ideas and see if they can be finalized

I've received a few requests asking what forums I am currently active in so here you go:

- MBT (Malaysian gaming Community)
- EAUK
- Planet Battlefield
- F7C (German Forum)
- Battlefield Chile (Chilean Forum)
- BFBrazil
- Rivalsoul (Arabic BF Community)
- ESL (Online-gaming Community
- Fragnetics (South East Asian Community)

And a few other minor clan-sites.

*Active in reading and/or writing

A short bio about me then:

Born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden. Studied German for eight years in Stockholm and all together 1 and a half years in Germany (City of Aachen and Berlin).
In the Swedish Gymnasium, I Studied Social science/political science in the gymnasium. After that, I studied to be a social science teacher which was probably the best time of my life. Living with a few friends in a "collective" was something really awesome.

After I graduated I never really worked as a Social Science Teacher since my focus was moved to PR.

I applied for the job at DICE once I saw it on their website. Combining PR, Social Science (which is a whole educational program on social networking) and my online-gaming really made me interested so I applied .

Spoken languages:

- English
- Swedish
- German
- Russian (Tourist Russian, territory of Russia)
- Persian
- French (Tourist French, territory of France)

More info less hush hush..

All that modern marketing B.S is counterproductive to the fan base..

Don't be afraid to get some status info to us.. Get the feedback from the guys that will be playing your stuff. Like the thread Baza started some days ago ..
Just remember to not let threads like that hang around looking like no one is actually looking at them .. If you say A you have to be able to say B ..

tell us WHY a game like BF1943 is delayed not .. "no info on 1943 yet sorry" .. That kind of communication is insulting really .. Same goes for BF3. There is no good reason not to let us in on what is going on .. Stop letting marketing getting their hands into all that . "teaser delays" and stuff like that ..

Also .. And this is important.. Someone at DICE tell EA that MOH is not better than the BF series and that EA should stop meddling with the development schedule for a better series of games than their own original, now secondary, title .

What ticks me of the most is the silence.. I do not think I'm the only one with that opinion .. You being a gamer zh1nt0 probably know exactly what I'm talking about here.

Talk to us, we WANT to help YOU make better games..

Videos...can't really do too impressive ones if you need to over-complicate the process by not having a Battlerecorder.

But yeah, I agree with the suggestions mentioned before, such as a tour of DICE, some interviews and some competitions.

About me :

Real name's David, as many who know my in-game name would've guessed. I'm 17, soon turning 18, from Oradea, Romania.
Job...can't say I have one, I'm still a student in high-school, 1 year to go, studying electrotechnics and now during the summer I'm working in a shoe factory, since I need some money to buy some interesting titles and stuff from this summer / autumn / winter such as CoD:BO, MoH, Civ V, TDU2 or BC:V and of course pocket money. (Note to self : you'll need to work more if you're going going to buy that IROC-Z Camaro)
Hobbies : Photography, all sorts of motorsports, but mostly drifting, rally and time-attack (too bad I can't afford one of those fancy cars so I can get into it, so right now I'm just checking the scene out), hiking, swimming, waterpolo, martial arts and of course gaming, mostly FPS, but now I'm trying to enter the TBS online with Civ V, and possibly MMO Racing with TDU2.

EDIT : Also, I want to know what happened to 1943, why Steam users got access to MoH beta, and the physical copy owners did not, still no real solution to the "Onslaught on PC" problem etc. etc.

EDIT 2 : But I am glad finally someone asks and tries to break the dead silence that's between the developers and community right now.

EDIT 3 : I forgot to mention getting a final answer (yes/no) regarding BC1 maps in my first edit.
