Default Solution for kaspersky internet security 2010/2011

sry. ive got only german kaspersky IntSec 2010, so maybe the english names are a bit different.
##################
open kaspersky window
go to security center
go to preferences (up right corner)

select risk and exceptions
go to preferences again

then

ADD 1) 2) and 3) to trusted programs
ADD 1) 2) and 3) to rules and exceptions

1) ADD BC2 profile folder
2) ADD both bc2 exe s updater and starter
3) ADD complete bc2 install folder

into it.

thats it.

server browser takes up to 60 sec to give search results.

###################

works for me. maybe it helps ya, too.

Same problem here, and I'm running Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2011. The server browser sorta hangs every 15 seconds or so and gives me results after about 4-5 hangs. I added everything BC2 to the exclusions and it still does it. What doesn't make sense is neither disabling Kaspersky nor completely closing it solves the problem.

Was having the same trouble with KIS 2011 when updating to the patch last night

I tried it with KIS shut down and the same thing happened, so I thought it wasn't anything to do with Kaspersky.

I was about to reinstall the game as I thought the patch didn't install properly but luckily I saw in another thread a poster having the same trouble and it worked when he uninstalled Kaspersky.

I've also tried it with the latest KIS/KAV2011 CF1 11.0.1.399 beta build, but the same thing is happening, it took around 3-5 minutes for it to show the servers.

Well - I've tried pausing protection and exiting Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 9.0.0.736 (a,b,c) and still the 'Play Now' option yields no hits and the server browser hangs (or rather, runs VERY slowly). In fact, the whole interface grinds to a halt once the server browser is used.

I've installed the game from scratch with Kaspersky paused - still the same.
Dearie me...

Can't play now and I hope that EA and Kaspersky can fix this soon as I'm unable to play the game I paid for.

Really strange how it still affects it even when Kaspersky is shut down or paused.

I have McAfee, and I have this problem as well. I actually had it will R7 as well, but to be honest, it seems to be much better under R8. No, turning off the

One thing that helped me was to delete my BFBC2 folder under "My Documents" and let the system regenerate the files. Yes, you will lose your tweaks to graphics, sound, etc., and will have to reenter them, but that's a whole lot better than the frustrating browser freeze.

One other thing you can do is to click "cancel" about two seconds after clicking "search," before it freezes. You should get to see a handful of low ping servers to choose from. Not optimal, but again, it works.

I always start the game with BFBC2Updater.exe. I dont use BFBC2Game.exe.
I tried disabling all ICMP rules in Kaspersky 2011 but that didnt help either.

So i guess there is nothing we can do but wait.

Good news for Kaspersky Users!!!

Apparently Kaspersky Labs HQ are aware of the problem; it has an internal developers' issue number and they are talking to EA/DICE about a fix. I raised a support ticket in the UK and the team there were very helpful and were going to forward some traces of the problem to HQ when they were told it is an ongoing issue and known.

Just keep an eye on the EA forum/Steam and here...
