Default Squad orders should work 100% of the time!!!

i joined a game today on a server i like to play on. squaded up and my teammates and i worked really good as a team. one player was designated the "leader" and was going to pick points in conquest mode of where we were going to go (since VIOP is effed).

player 1: "i cant command to attack a"

player 2: "me either"

me: "neither can i"

if there is no squad leader in BC2, then picking an attack/defend point for a squad should work 100% of the time for the entire squad. having to stop and type "go a" and so on is unacceptable and it needs to be fixed. Team Based MP with a broken Command System. seriously?

I hope player 1 and 2 are your friends, otherwise they probably wouldnt notice the given command in the first place.

Theres ZERO teamplay game mechanics in this game. Except for the mobile sheep spawn point.

Anyways it might be that one of your teamates just issued an attack/defence order, theres a cooldown if i'm not mistaken.

nope no order was given before hand. i played a game a minute ago where i was the first to spawn, spammed the hell outta Q to go to B, and nothing. it's atrocious.

Did i also mention theres a "Q" cooldown too ;P

Spamming Q is not the way to go, as you'll get stuck with a roadbloclalalalail you wait a full 3 seconds before pressing Q.

Edit: i'm not even gonna try to wonder why that was censored.

my point is there shouldnt be for attack/defend orders. spotting sure, team based mechanics, hell no.

What is this? Wanting something to work all the time? You lamer. Next thing you'll be wanting bullets that don't warp into an alternate dimension after you fire them...at 3 feet.

If us PC'ers had the command rose and squad leaders this wouldn't be an issue.

I can confirm it's broken half of the time, regardless of cooldown status.

DICE probably won't believe us until someone makes a video though... they'll test on console and tell us it works LOL. Like with chopper flares

Remove the cool down altogether.

Spamming "Q" should be a requirement. There should be no "punishment".

Giving us the common rose would be nice, but maybe it will never come. I would settle for a separate command button then. And the ability to not only be able to issue a command on a flag or MCOM.

Yup what this guy said, I frequently get bugs where it just doesn't work at all.... regardless if I have pressed Q recently or not.

I've noticed that when someone new joins the squad, it can completely shift the "squadleader" role. I've had countless moments where I was the SL, giving orders to maximize points and encourage teamplay and focus on 1 target, when all of a sudden I've lost my ability to issue an order because someone else joins or leaves the squad.
I'm not sure if there is something like a squadleader in this game. It's so random. Most of the times it's the guy first in line in the squad screen, but many times it's just FUBAR and no one seems to be able to give orders.

Based on teamplay? Where? It's based ON teamspawn... There isnt a order system so... (if it works it will ve anyway useless becouse the only order attack or defend is obviously.. Follow me doesnt exist as order? Dice Are going now.. )

It's not even cool down.

I can try to issue an order, get nothing.
Try 2 minutes later, get nothing.
Try 2 minutes later, and it works.

It doesn't work sometimes because the roll of the DICE said so.

Yep yet another bug with the infamous Q button.

Much like spotting sometimes it does work sometimes it dosent, the game decides.

I think the "spot cooldown" applies for the whole functionality of the Q button. It doesn't affect only squad orders, but squadmate shouts as well ("I need some ammo", "Medic!" etc).
I consider it a bug, not a feature.

We know of an issue where if you have an order/"spotted" placed when the round ends you won't be able to place an order/spot in the following round.

That is probably what you are seeing.

damn lalalala! that explains it. i'm always spotting. i'll stop spotting towards the end of a match to see if that is a good work around until the patch comes.
