I'm trimming my main post up as my opinion on the subject has changed slightly.
Theory 1: For every 2 two audible/muzzleflash shots, only one shot is really fired, and only one shot actually counts towards damage. So a 30 round clip is really only 15. Theory 2: You only see one decal on the wall for every two shots because it's a way to increase performance, but the bullets are actually still firing. Note: If theory 1 is correct, you(developers) fail. If theory 2 is correct, you(developers) still fail, the pistol does as much damage in one shot as 3 rifle shots do. (Proven fact in-game.) I'm positive that assault rifle bullets do more damage than a slow moving pistol round.(In real life.) Make it realistic. And I know some dude's going to come up and be like, "THIS IS A GAME, NOT REAL LIFE".... and I agree, but when pistols do more damage than assault rifles, all I have to say is that there's a certain limit to the amount of off-the-wall nonsense and complete fantasy one can put up with in a game. The solution to this problem would just add a normal mode, and a hardcore/realism mode like in COD games. (Shut up about me wanting this game to be the next COD, no.) It's just a good idea, everyone's happy. You like to play the game the way it is now? Good play normal. You hate the way the game is now? Good play hardcore. I honestly don't see why you would be opposed to the idea of having two modes. (As far as I know, they ARE doing this, so great.) Last edited by Khaotik55; 31-01-2010 at 07:12 PM. |

I single-fired the gun, very fast, and every decal showed up.
I would really like someone official to comment on this so I know if it's just to reduce lag. (But why would bullet decals make you lag... they're nothing...) Someone could end this right here, right now, you just need a buddy to help you out. Shoot your friend in the chest and see how many bullets it takes to kill in single-shot mode. (Take note of how many bullets it SAYS you fired with the counter on the bottom left.) Now try your best to fire the same exact amount of bullets in FULL-AUTO, and if it doesn't kill him, they really are blanks. For example, go to 25 out of 30 on your magazine in SEMI, and do the same on AUTO, and if only one kills him. We know the issue. Last edited by Khaotik55; 31-01-2010 at 09:12 AM. |

Well just because you only see 15 decals that doesent mean the gun only fires 15 rounds....
I bet its a limitation to how many bulletholes a single cam can show, its the same as with many other games. Im almost 100% they wouldnt miss a thing like this, calm down its only the visuals |

Maybe it's just visuals. But this really does explain everything. It feels like there is some sort of restriction on how many bullets one can take in a given time. So if you just tap your mouse buttons, they will all register but if you go full auto, the game will ignore some of the hits hence why people don't freaking die when I unload my LMG in people that are defusing m coms by jumping through the window.
Maybe this explains why sometimes people don't die to the combat shotgun blast to the back 7 feet away |
