Default New Client

A new BFBC2 PC Beta client is on its way.
Don't worry it is a new painless process and will not be a massive 1.4Gb download again.
Watch this space for information on fixes and how to go about getting the RC2 Client.

The RC2 contains the following fixes:

Front end:
Fixes server browser crashes. Server browser more resilient against corrupt online service data, and better support for large number of servers.
Several server browser ping issues resolved.

Windows XP stability:
Fixed crash on windows XP at end of round, exit game and display mode changes and.
Proper window style / mouse confinement when starting game maximized on XP .

Options dialog:
Mouse sensitivity setting gives more effect.
Mouse sensitivity loaded on game startup.

The update to RC2 will be 8.4Mb

When you next start BFBC2 you should get this message (Steam users can update through Steam). If you have trouble updating by running the game itself go to \Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield Bad Company 2 - BETA and run BFBC2BetaUpdater.exe as Administrator.

What the hell is the point of the BC2 Updater application, if it cannot update the current client?

This is a very very weird way to be doing this baza..

Who said the BC2 Updater isn't how you will get the client update?

"Watch this space for information on fixes and how to go about getting the RC2 Client."

The way I read it, meant that you'd be putting up a download link, guess I assumed wrong.

Will this fix the "Connection to game server has been lost" problem? It lets me play for 3-5 mins and throws me out of the game giving this message.

As long as it fixes the lag and stuff I'm happy, so you can focus on the gameplay stuff next.

*cough field of view*

if the level of support and quickness of patches continues like this i think we'll be in for a very successful beta. after the complete farce that modern warfare 2 has been for us pc players lets hope this makes a welcome change!

May I suggest that only DICE people write here so we don't have to read 10 pages of "I've been waiting for that patch since yesterday" and then 10 pages of "thanks for the patch" with the link to the patch lost in the middle of 1000s of messages ?
