Ascending To and Maintaining the Title of Top Sniper: By UDLawman

Gentlemen,

Right now, BC:2 has yet to come out, and therefore, everyone has the chance to become the "best" in their respective classes. Now, every game thus far I've ever played has some leaderboard problem. People constantly "boost" to improve their rankings. (MW, MW2, and Operation Flashpoint). I don't know much about BC:1 to tell whether or not there were boosters?

Regardless, I hope BC:2 does not have this problem. Thus, the true skill and dedication of the player should and will eventually show through.

I want to open this thread up for discussion on what it takes to the "Top Sniper" in BC:2.

Since the game isn't out yet, please feel free to post things about what you may think it takes to be the Top Sniper. What are the characteristics? What skills must you have?

As the game eventually comes out and we all see the gameplay, these questions will eventually evolve as we can provide more insight and guidence on what it takes to be the best.

Furthermore, this thread will also serve as the "Tips/Advice" to being a Top Sniper.

#1 The position of top sniper is reserved for he who raises to the flight ceiling on top of the Blawk or Apache.

#2 The top sniper must never move from a bush, unless they are on top of a vehicle.

#5 The top sniper must never throw motion sensors. An enemy may see them on the ground and know that the elusive top sniper is in the area.

#7 The top sniper must be in a squad with 3 assaults, so as to resupply the top sniper with ammo at the only spawn point worth spawning on: that of the position of the top sniper.

#8 The top sniper must never let his enemies know where he is. By never killing anyone, he stays stealthy and killcam-free.

#9 The top sniper must not spot enemies. He is the sniper, he shall kill them, no need for marking for his allies.

#10 The top sniper must never use other kits, or all-kit-weapons. Healing is for lowly medics, resupplication (now a word, the top sniper decrees it) for assaults, and engineering is for the aptly named engineers.

Leaderboard ranking = The more time played, the higher ranking = Fail. (In most cases)

I don't have time or interest to climb up on the leaderboards or to maintain my position, I've played alot of games during my short life and I can tell you that leaderboards mean nothing... Sure some of them are good but most are garbo and got there just because they've played three times more than most of the people. I'd rather judge skill by K/D & W/L compared to time played and rounds played.

If I could dedicate all the time I have to gaming, sure I'd be on top of the leaderboards.
Played BC1 from release to the release of MW2 for 22 days, that's alot on my scale and the ones on top of the leaderboards had 80+ days played.

Kills per minute is often a good indicator, unless ofc they run around qscoping lol

Depends if you're a "fragger" or a objective taker. All I do in FPS games is killing, hopefully I help my team, dunno but I wouldn't do too well as a crate basher or flag capper etc... Sure I take the objectives if I get a chance but I see killing as my objective.

edit: Bad thing is that my stupid teammates don't use the opportunity when I take out squads of enemies.. They keep sitting in their bushes.

This is an interesting post, I must say. Though it's a bit sarcastic and I was looking for more serious dialogue.

The first thing you should do is definately pick the recon class, it has the best long range weapons.

In this game the leaderboard is about who plays the game the most. You don't necessarily have to be that great to be near the top. You just have to play 24/7
