Console lag

As some of you have probably experienced the console servers have lag for some players especially those on the East Coast of the USA.
We need your help trying to pinpoint this as some might have seen on Twitter.

If you get the excessive rubber banding can you post in this thread the responses to these points:

• Console platform
• Your Geographical location (State/County will do)
• Your ISP
• The time you were playing when the lag happened

Also if you have friends in other continents try connecting on them to see if you get the rubber banding. i.e. East Coast USA players try to join a European game. Try changing game mode and joining another server too, does the same lag persist?

Been getting a lot of lag issues in the UK, kent area whilst playing at 19.00-22.00
Causing real issues and is seriously messing up the enjoyability. also the other men and myself tend to fly around the battlefield.

Does it happen when you play with the 'Play Now' option? Or when you join another PSN Friend game?

They're peak hours in the UK, i think you'll find your ISP contention is causing the issue, check if your ISP is using traffic shaping during peak evening hours.

• Worse times seem to be from 8:00pm through midnight. Some occurs daytime, but mainly evening. Loading screen usually tells me what's going to happen. If there is a quick, black horizontal line that goes through it, the game usually has lag/rubber banding. This doesn't happen with normal games with no rubber banding, etc. Rarely occurred for me prior to getting my SPECACT upgrade, only once or twice in a week. Now is daily.

  Not only that, when we look at where we are connecting via router logs we are being sent to the otherside of the world after 7pm...the lag is chronic.
  
  Infact this is what happens: YouTube - Battlefield Bad Company 2 - lag o rama pure and utter bungie lag after 7pm, if you change game you get about 3minutes of smooth gameplay, then you get this lag again.

Not nice when your trying to play a game, battlefield bad company had this issue and 1943 at the very beginning of release, now bfbc2 has it..which will kill this game.

And no the isp doesn't throttle our connections, 50mb is the max in the uk and its free from traffic management.

BT definately traffic shapes unless you are on the top level of their subscription plans.

You able to connect on anyone else in Europe from your friends list to get to a closer server at all?

Per the experience of others on the forum I contacted ComCast and Soutbeach. Both point towards DICE. No problem playing other games (eg RDR runs flawlessly...if DICE games are the dictionary definition for "bad online performance" Rock Star games are quickly becoming the gold standard for a great experience in spite of the P2P architecture).

BT traffic shapes no matter what package you are on from 12noon until 11pm everyday. A BT connection can also be affected if you have neighbours using their BT Vision service as it will get priority over you for bandwidth.

always have lags when start game with 3-4 guys in the squad

because fast servers in my region is full (not have 3 or 4 free place in the room) and game send me to Japan or USA or etc - and i have crazy delay and lags (i can see my traffic on my Linux gateway)

when me start alone - in 90% times i not have lags at all, because game send me to fast servers (almost any time this servers have 1 free place)

BT Most probably yes, Though the whole Broadband management within the UK is wack atm all thanks to Richard Branson AKA lalalala
