My problem :
When clicking on Join Server from the browse server window i only get "Joining Server" after that nothing happens at all. What helped for me on my x64 PC is the following : Due to the è in the folder name the game won't start and generates an Application Error in the event viewer. To change this on x64 systems : 1) Goto the folder where Origin installed BF3 Beta (C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Bèta Battlefield 3) 2) Rename the Bèta Battlefield 3 folder to Beta Battlefield 3 3)Start regedit , browse to the following key : HKEY LOCAL MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WoW6432Node\EA Games Change the GDFBinary & InstallDir paths to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Beta Battlefield 3 Try to launch the game, should work.. i am happy as a puppy now Hope it works for you 2Remember this works on x64 systems! Yep, pretty messy tho lol.. the one who invented the folder name is to be dismembered ingame lol.. Anyway the same thing should work as well on x86 systems.
This will probably also work on 32bit systems only the path to the game is different and thus the installation folder. I think the proper folder for install then is C:\Program Files\Origin Games\Bèta Battlefield 3 ? Then do the same , rename the folder without the è in it ,change the registry key located under HKEY LOCAL MACHINE\SOFTWARE\EA Games. Last edited by Roofuzz; 29-09-2011 at 07:55 PM. |

Done
If you are finding that you are getting stuck when trying to join a game then one suggestion is to flush the browser cache either manually or using another utility and then re-try which hopefully may help.

As I've already posted on Origin Forum, my problem consists of the following:
"I don't get any message, but for some reason my Origin status changes to "playing BF3 Beta" although nothing is happening. Task manager shows that bf3.exe is active but the game is not in my task-bar or anything. I used to have the same issue with BC2 but usually restarting Origin helped me solve the problem with the new patch completely eliminating it, however no matter how many times I restart Origin now I cannot run BF3 Beta. Any ideas? Thanks!" |
