Default Dice must have loved Modern Warfare 2 campaign

Update, I made a video that shows the similarities: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCkPpmEkiw8

Dice must have loved Modern Warfare 2 single player campaign.

After watching the full 12 minutes BF3 video I realized how similar it is to the beginning of Modern Warfare 2 ACT 1 mission "Team Player" where you enter a city in Afghanistan looking for hostiles.

For those of you who have Modern Warfare 2 try this:

1. Watch the BF3 12 minute video
2. Play the ACT 1 mission "Team Player".

Then you will see the similarities, a general/commander giving you orders, following squad leader, snipers and RPG on rooftops, your squad shouting about the situation, changing weapons depending on the situation, and on and on.

Personally it is ok by me because I loved Modern Warfare 2 single player and DICE must have looked how much money it made in 2009 when they were in process of developing BF3 so they copy many elements of that campaign.

Even the boxart is similar.

Not really similar..

1. your not in a Humvee looking for insurgents
2. Only 1 squad not 3-4 like there was in MW2
3. Its the middle east.. with 3 wars pretty much at the moment its going to be in most modern era games..
4. Theres actual destruction although the car explosions are as dumb as COD though.
5. Everything you listed is part of any FPS as far as im aware of..

I can kind of see where you saw the similarities, but it's not really that close.

Oh I'm sorry, I must have missed the hand to hand fight scenes, full destruction, shooting heavy ordinance AT4 missiles at snipers, and earthquakes in that level.

Other than that I'd say they are one in the same

The only similar game I seen in the BF3 trailers was when he crawled in the vents.. DICE took that 99999% out of Metal gear solid series, the mouse leads to the exit

It was good to watch the MW2 video.

- Do not like the regenerative health that is being borrowed by DICE.
- Do not like the "Follow" icon being used in Battlefield 3 that was surprisingly present in Modern Warfare 2.
- NO NOT LIKE the text message in the middle of the screen. Again, another one being used by DICE now.

DICE is really hugging the COD model and hijacking their unwanted features.

DICE try to think about Battlefield features and stop taking stuff from a lesser game.

Don't forget that both in MW2 and in the BF3 trailer the player is using a GUN.CLEARLY a MW2 copy,it can't be a coincidence

Has nobody noticed that the guys jumping to the cliff in the bf3 trailer are a rip-off from the Black Ops mission where you jump from the russian base during the avalance ? It is clear that they have borrowed elements from the cod franchise to make the single player more appealing. I don't really care, besides the cod series campaigns are usually pretty good. Only thing that bothers me is that I wouldn't like bf3 to be accused of not having its own identity.

Things that happen in combat operations:

-You follow your squad leader on missions
-Insurgents ambush from rooftops
-Squad members yell after being engaged
-You often use vehicles as transportation

Curse you, MW2! Argh!

The OP is right. It does seem very similar (the boxart and the campaign style). But there's nothing wrong with that.

SP = get good reviews = increase sales = $$$ for EA = bigger possibility of good BF4

In short, I don't care how generic, terribad, cliche, linear...etc it is. As long as it sells. It's not like any of us would play it more than once.
