Default Custom FXAA Post-Process injector with color correction and other tweaks!

So if you want AA but you find that the in-game FXAA is too blurry and you can't use the MSAA option because it hurts performance too much then use this custom FXAA injector I configured for this game.

The FXAA using this will look way sharper than the in-game FXAA and it has the same unnoticeable performance hit.

Also unlike the FXAA in game this is very customisable.

You can control the level of smoothing, blur amount, sharpen amount and other settings.

To customise it yourself just open injFX_Settings.h with notepad or Notepad++ (recommend you download Notepad++ it's very useful).

v4
FXAA DX10 DX11v4.rar

*Newest Version v5
http://www.mediafire.com/?om7bzxc7488wrj3

Instructions:
1.Unzip with winrar or 7-Zip
2.Place all files in your main Battlefield 3 directory where the game's bf3.exe is located.
3.Play!

Screenshots:

1.View image: bf3 2011 11 13 15 20 18 53

2.View image: bf3 2011 11 13 15 21 16 77

3.View image: bf3 2011 11 13 15 22 50 72

4.View image: bf3 2011 11 13 15 23 27 72

5.View image: bf3 2011 11 13 15 23 41 29 --> My favorite

6.View image: bf3 2011 11 13 15 24 33 17

7.View image: bf3 2011 11 13 15 25 41 28

8.View image: bf3 2011 11 13 15 27 51 30

As you can see it is way sharper than the in-game FXAA with very minimal aliasing and great performance.

Also this will make your colors look better as well.

New video on youtube made by FRANKIEonPCin1080p showing off the mod and talking a little bit about it:

BATTLEFIELD 3 (BF3): REAL LIFE MOD!! - YouTube

Update: I've been looking around my thread here, the one on the EA UK BF3 PC forum and the youtube comments and there seems to be some people who think I created this injector.
As I said I only configured the settings for what I thought looked best with BF3, I never stated that I made the injector. Just to be clear.

AW: Custom FXAA tool created.
I've tested it now some hours and it didn't cause any trouble with PB so far - from my point of view it's safe to use, however I can't guarantee that it won't cause trouble in the future.

The files contained in the .rar files are not cheat related in any way.

Can't Stuff like this get you pb-banned?

I'd love to try it.

Looks amazing mate! Gonna give it a try.

Edit: Just tried it, it does look nice, BUT:
1. Makes the game really dark for me.
2. Disables my OSD
3. Blurs other things like text.

Maybe put in the OP which files people need to remove to disable this, I know we can see it in the zip file, but it will surely raise questions from newbies

Hmm weird I've had no issues like that.

But yeah all you have to do to uninstall is remove the files.

text is blurred on my end, confirmed, OP you can see it on your screenshots too + it didnt removed aliasing
the good thing that the injector does - removes that annoying HDR effect
hope you continue developing it, thumbs up!

The text doesn't look blurry to me but I guess that's just me. Imo it looks perfectly fine and readable.

It does reduce aliasing though while not removing it completely.

No having the in-game AA disabled is fine.

I have the in-game AA disabled as well.

Ha unfortunately we''l have to wait for a patch for the chat box.

It really is too big.

I uploaded a newer version with some tweaked settings that I think made it look a little better.

DON'T put files into your games directory!

PB could ban you by false detection.

I've played a ton of games today on pb enabled servers and have had no issues.

But still use at your own risk.

I doubt you'll get banned though.

Lol I guess all my time playing BFBC2 has given my eyes enough torture, this little tool has made things better for me, Still, I need to play with the settings a bit to make it more like BFBC2's settings so it looks right and not too dull

Bit dark, any way to increase the brightness but remove the horrible over bright lighting HDR whatever you call it? Its like the whole goddam place is one radioactive blowout.

Does in in-game FXAA settings matter? If it's set to off in the game menu, does this custom FXAA still work just the same, and does it increase if it's set to high in the menu?

Hmmmm stuff like electric wires etc. look quite bad like "cut here" lines but I guess there's little FXAA can do about those.

Btw. I used FXAA injector in BC2 without any PB problems so I think it's safe.

Think i got it guys. Making a few changes to the settings in .h and managed to make it less overbright. I just need to bump the brightness slightly, it works quite well as it doesnt make really dark areas pitch black and other areas nuked.

My main settings changed were

Code:
float BloomThreshold = 9; // The min. level at which the effect starts (Valid Values = 1 to 9, use decimals for finetuning)
float BloomPower = -50; // The power of the effect (Valid Values = 1 to 9, use decimals for finetuning)

#define Saturation 0.4 // use negative values for less saturation.
#define Bleach -0.2 // Bleach bypass, higher = stronger effect
Not sure if the bloom has any effect, but the bleach one does.

With

Without
