Most likely not today with the BC2 Beta release. But it would be nice if it was soon. Hopefully now that the Beta is released, that they can get some more staff to help out with it and push the patch along faster.

Hey guys
Trying to get the programmer back on BF2142 still, he is being tied up on BFBC2 PC version.

As for the changelist you know this is a small update in terms of fixes and is aimed at adding more security fixes onto accounts to stop spoofing.

Other things you will see are:
  • No DRM method on the exe as with BF2 (No more SafeDisc, PACE or SecuROM (depending on which version of BF2142 you have) and no more errors from EADM saying you need to log in to EADM to verify ownership even if you are logged in)
  • Operation Blue Pearl
  • Two brand new maps from community modder Jason Brice (more on this later)
  • Northern Strike will be available to EVERYONE
Also yes, BF2142 Deluxe Edition is heading to Steam and Direct2Drive (and all other online retailers you see selling BF2 Complete Collection) once BF2142 1.51 is done.

Ask him what his asking price is to remove killcam in BFBC2
I can arrange a swedish baker to stash the cash in a cake if need be.

Bonus stripper if he sneaks in prone.

If at all possible, can you make sure that your coder(s) don't require us to have a +widescreen 1 in the shortcut to access widescreen resolutions? And please add in more flexible support for bigger/wider resolutions? While triple-head setup is a niche market, it'd be nice to support those users as well as their display/rendering resolution isn't typical. I'm sure these players would like it if they can select their resolutions and use it without problem. If not that, at least add in the ability to set custom FOV so they can adjust it for their unique rendering resolution.

Yes, yes, please pester/poke him! The worst case scenario would be if the 1.51 patch gets overshadowed by BFBC2. Some of us are using 2142 to fill the gap before BFBC2 arrives. Get 1.51 out as soon as you can.. at least to alleviate the server crashes!

Also looking forward to the Jason Brice maps. Thanks for NS! I bought NS, but it will be nice to have more players around on those maps. Win-Win for me

I hope the server stability is at least being looked at also as crashes seem very frequent now. Ever since GameSpy moved the master servers a few months back the server filters don't work any more, is thing going to be addressed?

As Pdx stated, thanks for freeing the NS maps as they are good maps and it will be nice be able to play them with lots of ppl again.

Ah! So this is why it takes so long... There is only one programmer for 2142 and he's been stolen?!?!?

I say we kidnap him!!

Lulz... It's a miracle this patch is coming out to begin with, nevermind triplehead2go / eyefinity support at this point. If you haven't noticed, the resolution thing is a very ugly hack (you can see off the sides of certain guns because the overlay doesn't cover the whole screen)... so it'd be even more painful under eyefinity / triplehead2go. Still, I'm extremely glad it's there, buggy as it is.

I'd vote for letting Mr. Solo Programmer stay with BF:BC2 at this point - and while he's at it, implement prone and make killcam and map overview where you can see where everyone is while spawning a server-side option and disableable.

I guess something had to be dumbed down (aka "n00b frendlied") for consoles, but I can only hope the PC version will be different.

great news Baza . The Northern Strike maps are great and I can't wait to be able to play them with more people again.

Are we going to be able to use our retail keys to be able to download BF2142 from steam? (that would be cool).

Very very very unlikely.

But possible if EA want to do it. (Unlikely)

can you please get him to make the right gun work on the EU transport? i tend to like gunboating and it isn't really fair to only have one gun work.

thanks for the progress report and i'm looking foreword to bfbc2

Sigh...I wished some tracking fixes for SAAW 86. I heard it was actually usable a few patches ago. They took our jobs!
