Default Battlefield 2142 through Crossover Games/Wine?

Does anyone here know if BF2142 runs well through Crossover Games/Wine? I use a Mac, but I've heard that the official Mac port is extremely glitchy. I was hoping to give the PC version a try.

for ALL gaming, you're better off booting windows natively via bootcamp. i would not mess with crossover and all the emulation apps when you can boot into windows and play games off it like a normal PC.

Yeah, I suppose you're right, though I did manage to run several Valve games through Crossover. I'll probably look into getting ahold of XP or something in the future so I can dual boot.

Yeh things like WINEX - Changed to Cedega - fails to run 2142 or many games correctly - Basically down to lack of decent DirectX coding - i have tried many times to get it working with Xubuntu using wine, winex/cedega and a bunch of others.
If you can get the game working Punkbuster fails and vice versa.

Put simply if its a windows pc game play it on windows.

I just wish more software studios would code for linux too, its very frustrating having to keep a xp drive specifically for booting 2142 lol although i love 2142 that much i just DO it hahaha

lol MACs have 8 cores ?

OSX has always been "quirky" and "fun" and if your not graphical designer or a music producer MACs have been pretty pointless - unless your one of these people that bought a MACbook cuz they looked cool lol very much the point in case for most of apples hardware

windows has gotten a lot better
vista is MS's achilles heel, XP has always been the most stable after NT4, especially if you use nLite and custom build your own installs and cut out all the pointless bundled rubbish like laptop drivers brother printer drivers etc my Custom XP installs to 250mb and only uses 150mb memory running idle. Windows 7 again bloated with junk but it is a superior OS *shudder* didnt think i'd ever say that but...... it IS stable and DOES run games and has virtualisation support lots of other cool hardware stuff AND IT PLAYS GAMES ! lol

Horses for courses i guess
