Default New comp + 2142

Ok, now I have shiny new pc and I am about to install 2142 soon. Are there any known issues in this game with the latest nvidia drivers and Quad Core cpu?

In BF2 I noticed that the flashbank's effect is flickering.

I have:

Phenom II 905e Quad Core cpu and Asus GTS 250 "Dark Knight". Still using WinXp.

That's a shiny new pc? I think they ripped you off mate. How much did u pay for that? a GTS 250 is basically a re-hashed version of the old 8800GTS as far as power/performance is concerned. I suggest upgrading to a GTX360 or 380 when they come out in a few months time

Yeah, but this is a budget computer. I selected all parts and installed them myself. I have always build just a average gaming pc's that will do just fine for a few years.

This is still a massive improvement. My old pc was AMD Athlon 3200+ with Geforce 7600GT. Fallout 3 was still playable with medium settings on that rig for example.

i wouldnt worry, your new rig will still be overkill for this game. I used to play maxed with an e4500 @2.93Ghz, 8800GTX and3 gb RAM on XP.

dont even think about buying more graphics power if you dont play the new games at higher than 1920 *1080

Sigh.....I installed BF2142 again yesterday and noticed two issues:

1. My game now crashes when I click my ribbons.

2. Inside Titan sometimes player are completely light grey colored at distance.

Using latest drivers.

The grey colour could be the AA bug.

Try disabling AA in the game and use the Nvidia control panel to handle AA.

AA = Anti-Aliasing

The crashing on ribbons might be fixed with a clean reinstall
but there may be another fix I haven't seen.

You can check your stats here: http://www.2142-stats.com/
Theres an update button on there somewhere to get the site
to get your lastest stats.

When buying Nvidia cards. Watch out for rebranded cards
you'll end up paying more then you have to.

IE 9800GT is a rebranded 8800GT but with a die shrink
so it runs cooler but otherwise the specs are the same.

Why should I buy DX 11 card? I use Winxp, so I can't even use DX 10. DX 11 cards weren't even available when I made my shopping.

And like I said before this was a pc build with limited budget. Not state of the art comp to begin with.

ribbon crash is due to patching improperly. remember to patch again after NS installation.

for graphics, make sure your dynamic lighting and everything else is maxxed out. on maps like verdun, they kinda grey inside titan though.

I installed BF2142 v1.0 and v1.50 patch full for it. I didn't install NS this time. Everything in graphics are maxed out and the map was indeed Verdun where I noticed grey players.

full patch has problems, try the 1.40 then 1.50 incremental patch.
