commander menu real clunky, sometimes when going to press the supplies button or the orbital button while zoomed in it will click the mini map instead of the proper button you wanted moving the satelite view

the indestructible beacon is not just confined to the cylinders, you can't destroy it in many places on the titan, on the deck at the back, on crates and on the roof bit in the middle where players drop down.

and were the sentry guns firing through walls mentioned?

They don't fire through walls but acquire targets through them and shoot even though there is no direct line of sight.

We will do what we can in this update but as Vector mentioned this isnät going to be as big as BF2 v1.50.
The coming update for BF2142 is minor revision update and as such is called 1.51. The main aim is to add some account security fixes into BF2142 that didn't make it in 1.50 (most of them did but not all of them).

Like Kinetic I'm quite happy with the game. The bug list is more a list of annoying niggles than game breakers.

Half the time the parachute opens in the titan and causes you to fall through it and die anyway :/

The hud can't be changed now as far as I know from reading the bf2 update threads. I would have loved to have seen a fixed hud for widescreen users, but as long as the widescreen fov is fixed im pretty damn happy

- Dropping down to the upper deck of the titan (Level with the vent entry holes)causes instant death in some spots also. (Going prone and crawling off results in serious injury).

- I've noticed very short falls on certain textures cause damage
(Black diamond plate texture appears to be the worst)

- RDX attached to this texture when detonated causes death/injury
to self and teammates on FF=OFF servers.

Not sure if this is client related.
- Registering Northern strike fails for a LOT of people forcing them to contact support to register it manually.

If the Northern Strike registration problem is not client related it would be nice
if whomever is responsible for it could be notified to get it fixed. It is probably the number one reason for low NS populations on servers.


Goliath:

- RDX refuses to stick to the repair cells of the Goliath a lot.

- Motion mines refuse to follow and detonate on Goliath
occasionally, they leap up briefly then just lay there.


Walker:

- Walker floats instead of walks. You need to stop completely
and then start walking again to make it go away.

- Walker switches from one foot to the next while standing still
need to exit and reenter to get it to stop.

Transport:

One of the side guns according to some people doesn't register hits
I don't know which sides transport it is though.

14 Pilum shots to Shields blowing consols 1/2 dispute:

Would be nice if a definite answer to this could be given
instead of just "Let servers decide if it's allowed"

This issue has caused a lot of people to get kicked/banned from servers.

Is it meant to happen or is it a bug/glitch.


Don't care about discussing wether it should be removed or 'fixed'
just an answer to end it once and for all.

Yes it's suppose to be a part of the game

Im positive someone from dice said so as well

Also if it wasn't how come weapons can damage it, it would be a solid object otherwise.

It is definitely not a glitch, although it would be good to have it as a variable in the settings for administrators to decide.

The only official answer I've seen is one saying Dice/EA is leaving it up to server admins to allow/disallow it.

No straight answer to if it was intended.

It's one of the many undocumented features of the game
that people who oppose it say since it's not in the manual
it must be a glitch/bug.

I'm sure it's designed that way but you know how it is
the nade spammers squeal if they have to actually
use tactics and skill to defend the titan and god forbide
they slip down the leaderboard for nade spammery.

that's fine, we don't need a major update like BF2. security fixes sound good, especially if you guys are going to fix the spoofing.

but for the love of god, please make sure you guys figure out how to prevent servers from crashing all the time. server crashing wasn't much of an issue pre-1.4 i believe, but since then it's been plaguing 2142 and has taken away the enjoyment of playing for me. nothing is more discouraging than being in a middle of a round absolutely kicking butt and just before the round ends the server crashes and everything achieved goes down the drain. server crashing is the 1 issue that MUST be fixed in this update or its adios 2142. i know many people who just about had it with this game and servers crashing.

+1 Server crashing (Game stopping literaly)

I've noticed that some servers crash a LOT more then others
not sure if this is a host issue or their being targeted by hackers.

- Beacons can be disabled by placing a health or supply hub on top of them (Intended?)

- RDX - When switching to detonater game will sometimes drop another RDX
when you hit the detonate button even if you have placed all 5 RDX.

- Zeller - Reloads after only firing 1 or 2 shots. Happens with lag but also
when ping is low. Occasional double reloads happen also.

- RDX Hopping on FF=OFF servers - Maybe something can be done to neuter those
people?

- Exiting a vehicle close to a wall can kill you (Haven't seen it but hear a lot about it)

Server crashing exploits need to be fixed. I would be extremely content if that was the only thing fixed along with spoofing. This is a show stopper for many, including myself.

I'm wondering why certain 'easy' bugs that have been obvious from the start, haven't already been fixed? Maybe this has already been covered, but I'm curious what the technical reason is, since on the surface, fixing them seems rather trivial.

Just one example: the kit selection is buggy. It suddenly reverts to a different weapon when you're changing your kit after you die and the timer runs down. Thanks!

Any chance of removing the DVD check on 2142 bringing it in line with BF2? My poor 2142 is almost worn out.

those would probably be the bugs that on the surface seem like easy to fix but trying to fix would mean going through very complex code which can also break new things. for example, the EU transport gun on the right side shoots blanks, but someone from the community figured out a very simple solution for this and sent it to DICE developer. but they couldn't use it because it affected something else from what i know. according to some, the game was poorly coded so fixing things become very difficult and often times break things unintentionally.

but yeah, there are those bugs that we've been having on all previous versions of BF games, as they're all based on the refractor engine, like the gun sound loop, scope lag, etc.

on 2142, the bugs like not being able to spawn on titan, switching of kits to support when using the kit selection while critically injured/killed (not to mention non-functional kit saving feature), automatic spawning with assault/engineer kit upon entering server are all bugs that DICE hasn't been able to address over several patches. those are not really show-stopping issues like server crashes, so i wouldn't hold my breath on having them fixed. in fact, don't expect them to be fixed at all. (although i really question DICE's move to add the kit saving feature and turn it into a random kit selector. why even add this feature if you're gonna leave it as buggy as it is?)

people attacking the titan can overload the shields inside the titan to get past them thus they can attack defenders going to the consoles to defend and can also blow up consoles 3 and 4 before blowing up consoles 1 and 2.

This has already been covered, it's not a bug.

Hi all,
I have not read the first post with the bug list so it could be possible that I write something which is already in the list. But now I will post some bugs which are very annoying. And sorry if my english sucks sometimes but it is very late and I am not perfect.

- Privatebug, when you join on a server, you have the private rank and can't choose a weapon. You must rejoin, then you are abtle to choose your weapon but the bug is still here.

- Soundbugs, sometimes you hear the sound of the weapons from a player, who does not shoot. But you hear the sound all the time. It stops when the player reload his weapon.

- Zoombug, sometimes the weapon zooms in and out very fast or the weapon does not zoom in or out. And sometimes the game want to zoom in with some weapons, which are not able to zoom. For example "Herzog".

- No Recoil Bug, very useful and unfair bug. You have no recoil, so it is easy for you to aim at somebody. For good players, who shoot good, it is a big plus point.

- Diamonds Bug, you see the diamonds of all enemys throgh the wall without spotting.

- Anti-Tank-obstacle Glitch on Camp, you can glitch into it at Toll-Station, when you jump from the roof.

- A lot of glitches on other maps -> YouTube - bf2142 1.50 glitches
I have posted the result of the search on Youtube because I did not find one video which shows all glitches.

- With the shield from the supply you can glitch the Enforcer into walls.

- Graphicbug in the Titan, so you see nothing because all is black on your monitor.

- Widescreenbug, I think this is clear.

- Hitbox, the hitboxes are very crazy. The hitbox is not on the player but I think it is also clear.

- Hitboxes of the buildings are wrong placed. A friend, who is a Modder, told me this thing. I don't know if it a bug but for safety I post it.

- Some animation bugs (Reviving with Herzog/Rockets in the hand, Shooting rockets or herzog with Defi, Floating like a ghost, ...) -> http://www.abload.de/img/01njr8.jpg

- Grahpicbugs on Wake Island with the trees

- Cheating is very easy, no dynamic adress addon of the game, so it is very easy to change adresses)

- Podsurfing is no problem in 1.50...

- Weapon bugs, for example you have a SCAR and when you change to Herzog/Rockets then you have a Voss with Herzog/Rockets in your hand. If you change back to main weapon you have the SCAR again.

- Reload bug of the weapons. Sometimes you get the reload animation but you have to reload a second time because your magazin is empty.

- When you get revived, the shoot-mode has changed to One-Shot.

- The Titans are on top of each other.

- Titan is invisible.

- On server with friendly fire off you can blow up into the enemy hangar with RDX.

- Walker Bug, sometimes the walker is floating 2 metres over the floor. It starts during walking or running.

- A lot of game crashes! The game crashes when you have sucessfully loaded the map, the games crashes seconds after the start, the game crashes ingame on a server, the game freezes ingame on a server, the game freezes when the maps has sucessfully loaded and you click the "Join"-Button, the game crashes because of soundbugs.

- Sometimes you get the message that a new version is available but you have the newest version of the game...

- Sometimes your game says that it is modified but you have nothing changed...

- You can't hit your enemies because they are standing so near to a thing that you only see his shoulder or leg. But he is abtle to all of you.

- When you join a server you die immadietely without doing anything. Join on server and spawn on a point and then die... So you geht -2 points and 1 death.

- When you join a server you spawn on a optional spawnpoint with no weapons.

- The TV-missle from the gunship fly in a line without control or the camera does not fly with the TV-missle.

- Shield bug with Gunship, the shield of the gunship is on but you get damage.

- Consoleshields are easy to destroy with Sudnik/Mitchell/ Pilum.

- Titanshield Bug, the shield does not go down.

- Sometimes more than 6 people in a Squad. For example 8/6 people.

- 3rd person Bug, but this bug is not so important to get fixed. For people who does not know this bug. -> YouTube - Battlefield 2142 3rd Person Glitch


And now some suggestions for gameplay:

- The Voss is too strong. It has 40 bullets, the recoil is minmal and it is very easy too shoot without overheating. Set it down! Less damage and overheating for this weapon would be nice!

- The rockets are also too overpowered. You need 2 rockets for one player to kill him but most of the players have 4 rockets. They shoot all 4 rockets also when you died with 2 rockets...

- Lambert makes too less damage. More damage for this waepon would be nice.

- The Baur should have 25 bullets and not 20. Damage and recoil is okay.

- Krylov is also too overpowered. The Krylov is one of the strongest weapons in the game. With a SCAR or other waepons you have no chance against the Krylov most of the time.

- SCAR11 is very bad. The accuracy of this weapon is very crazy. Most of the time the weapon has a big spread and the shootrate could be higher.

- Clark is a nightmare. Most of the time with this weapon you give one shoot and get one kill at distances, which are very high. The shootrate is also too high. You shoot and shoot and this very, very fast. Most of the times you have no chance against this waepon and a lot of players are flaming about it.

- Enforcer "sees" too good. At high distances trogh the smoke or a wall the Enforcer sees you and shoots. Very annoying.

- The radius from the APMs is too high. Sometimes you are walking 2m away from the mine and he exploses and kills you.


So now it should be all for the first time.
The list was made with some friends, so thats the reason why it is so long. And sometimes we ask us, why we are still playing this game.
I hope someone form DICE/EA will read this and tell the bugs their programmers. I know it is not possible to fix all bugs but most of them should be fixed with the new patch!
