How often do you use a mic? On 2142 or using another program like Skype.
For me I find it weird, I'm used to looking at someone and talking. However on the phone I don't find it odd. Plus when I usually do go on mic I'm swearing or complaining if I die, it also forces you to talk to some people and creates awkward silences ![]() What about you guys? |

My computer is right by the house TV, so if anyone's home, I'm not talking (but I listen). If i'm the only one home, then I talk. I just don't talk much and usually keep it to pertinent game info to call out incomings, or "2 tanks at 5 ****!!!", and things like that. Unless I'm drunk....then I might babble. ![]() ~~ |

LOOOL ^^
I bet my neighbors think im harboring some immigrants in my flat and that I like to shout at on occasions! Me talkin to all these folk! It's not something that I'm uncomfortable with... talking to people through a mic, its just being sociable and interacting with people... not going to kill you :P . Infact I understand some peoples problem with it (not that you guys have a 'problem') and will often scale down my uberness for them. |

The in-game VOIP is OK for me, except when it sometimes randomly stops working. TS is a dreadful frustrating laggy hell where you're never sure if the person's even heard you properly. Hate it. Skype is better, but after using it for years I've removed it because they've failed to give users a way to retrieve account info if you lose your e-mail address, and that's so lame that I'd rather tell them to hang than make a new account. Vent looked horrible when I installed it once, and it seemed to be a bit fiddly and annoying to connect to a channel. I have a hands-free phone that works quite well though, and it's free for me to call anywhere in London, so I suppose I should join a London-based clan and just CALL the Commander when I want supplies.

No offence to American's but they do drive me crazy in games most the time, last time it was just some american woman shouting
"HELLOOOOO" "IS THERE ANYONE WHO SPEAKS ENGLISH THERRREEEEE????????!?!?!?" "HELLLOOOOOOOO" "ANY ONE SPEAK UNE ANGLAIS THERRREEE?????" "SPRECKE DE ANGLAIS???" AND THAT WAS THE HOST. I just didn't reply and made bets how long she would go on for, and lets just say i was wrong. very, very wrong. about 10 mins wrong. now wasn't fun at all!
