[Battlefield 2142] Battlefield 2142 Update 1.50 FINAL Released
After a successful open beta phase of Battlefield 2142 Update 1.50 and tweaks and updates being made based on feedback on the forums we have released the final version of Battlefield 2142 Update 1.50. Servers are being updated and the client files are now available for you to update and get into the new content.

As we mentioned with the Beta release we have added a number of new features and added new content to Update 1.50

FEATURES

- Added community maps, Wake Island 2142 and Operation Shingle
- Added the ability to use widescreen resolutions.
- Added No Vehicles mode.
- Added Conquest Assault mode.
- Changed the volume control for the Commander Voice Over on request of the esports community.
- Changes made to pod steering mechanism to improve control while limiting pod surfing.

FIXES

- Fixed the loading issue caused by corrupt Radial.cdb file
- Various changes made to prevent cheating.

Both The Sir. Community (The Sir. Community™) and Jason Brice (www.MGXCLAN.com) have been hard at work implementing feedback from the Beta to improve and tweak their maps for final release.

WAKE ISLAND 2142

Narrowed down the land bridge
Fixed FAVs not spawning more than twice
Add wrecked gunship to titan deck
Shorten FAV spawn time
Add FAV to Beach
Add crates to top of dock
Create path from Village to other side of island
Add anti tank gun to Village
Add anti air gun to Beach
Add additional blockades against mech movement at entrance to dock
Get rid of Island flagpole
Add crate next to antenna at main base to help people jump up on it
Fix small bug with beached ship at Beach
Add trees back to small island
Reduce the respawn time of EU gunship 30 -> 20
Increased docked titan pod velocity 38 -> 41
Move AA gun at main base
Crates/barrels on Titan deck
Reduce FAV spawn delay
Move PAC assets to island tips
FAV spawn at main base - cars start rolling forwards
At Office and Checkpoint, the antitank can kill the titan AA gun
Put tank barriers in front of dock entrance
Bring consoles on docked titan back to normal strength
Indestructible PAC titan
Limit PAC to only one gunship
Increase docked titan pod launch velocity 35 -> 38
Add ladder on other side of dock
Turn EU gunship 180 degrees
Add spawnpoints on top of dock to Dock CP
Increase the time it takes to capture Core flag
Moved PAC titan back
Replace stairs up to dock with ladder
Fix docked titan pods launching backwards
Reduce the respawn time of EU gunship 80 -> 30

OPERATION SHINGLE

Added NO VEHICLES mode.
Added ASSAULT LINES mode.
Preview Map updated to reflect proper Team positioning
Tickets have been reversed. Attacking team now has extra 30 tickets.
Columns/Command Center/Refugee Camp flags cannot be capped from a level below their locations.
Battle Walkers no longer do the MOONWALK on spawn
minculldistance has been removed

open up your device manager and look under storage controllers see if you have anythinf like iSCSI initiator or anything else weird.

also look under cd/dvd drives and see if there is more drives listed then you have. If you see a SCSI cdrom device, that is probably your issue.

I installed the 1.5 update for battlefield 2142 and now I get a "Conflict with Emulation Software Detected" error. I am not running any emulation software on my computer. I did a search of the EA site and found it might be a problem with SecuROM™ software that comes with the game to prevent you from copying the game. I e-mailed SecuROM™ and here is their fix.

Please download a new <BF2142.EXE> from the link below. I would appreciate it if you could rename your current one to

<C:/PROGRAM FILES/ELECTRONIC ARTS/BATTLEFIELD 2142 DELUXE EDITION/BF2142.EXE.OLD >

Extract the downloaded file into the application path mentioned and start the new application.

I followed the above instructions and now BF2142 works just fine.

Heya !

I just bought BF 2142 having played all the other battlefield games and i love it !!!

But got a small problem (probaly a bit noobish but anyway..)

I have just installed the game and to be able to play on the internet i need the new patch (1.50) but whatever link i choose it never finishes !! I will download 10%, 20% or more but then the download freezes and says its finished but i doesnt work (I know its not possible for it to have finished because it was a 10% one time with 2hrs remainig and then in 30secs said it was finished !??!)

Hope someone can help me !

I've downloaded the 1.5 patch and tried to install over a pristine BF2142 however part way through the install it stops, hangs for a few seconds and drops me out.
I'm running Win XP - as I say, I've not installed the previous patches just a clean install from the CD. The game gets me to the opening screens but I can't see any servers listed.

Hi all..Just installed the game for the first time and cant wait to play.. I need to update the game to 1.50 but am confused as what to download.. up the top there on the downloads its got a whole bunch of downloads but doesnt say what there for.. Am I right in assuming I need the LargeDownloads ----> Full download?

The 1.50 download for BF2142 is the one with the date of (05.30.2008). You can find it on the left side of the page I linked; under the Latest Downloads. This one if for window. Once downloaded just double click it to start it.

Note: If you use a Mac then you would need to top one in the list.

I've downloaded the 1.50 and I installed the 1.40 before installing 1.50, however, when I try to install 1.50 it says that I've already installed a newer update (which cannot be true, because, I have only installed 1.40). Is there a way to install the 1.50? Or do I have to reinstall the game and only install the 1.50 after installing the NS expansion (I have installed the 1.40 before and after downloading the NS expansion from EA Link) ?
Any helps would be great!

Why do you install 1.40? WHY? Thats an old patch which you DONT need. I dont understand why so many think that they need 1.40 before 1.50. It will only result in you getting problems like this.
The ONLY patch you need is Patch 1.50. Dont use 1.40 or whatever, it should always work with the latest patch. Heh..

Reinstall BF2142 (first remove NS, then the core game, then install again).
Install NS
Install Patch 1.50

Please reply on how it goes

It's been proven many times on many forums that installing the 1.50 patch alone causes problems, especially with NS servers. That's why.
Oh and you need to patch before installing NS unless you have 2142 deluxe.

Thats because people try to install the Incremental 1.50 update over Northern Strike when we even announce that you can't do that.
99% of problems with updating are user error and solved quickly by following the instructions on the EA Support webpages.

It has always been that the core game needs to be patched first before NS.
NS can not be installed unless your game has been patched with 1.20 or higher first.

Patch with 1.40, install NS, patch with 1.40, then patch with 1.50 full or incremental (both work).

Correct. I couldnt have said it better.
I cant understand how people can have so much problems with patching games. Its so easy..

Btw, its the same for BF2 too. However, I dont need to patch the core game before SF. I dont!

Install AF (If you have it) - Note: AF before EF, cause AF is newest..)

You should not tell people what they should and should not say. They have the right to their own opinion.
Quite frankly both methods have been proved to work. It is all in what you feel like doing and what works for your system. You must take note that some methods that work for certain people may not work for others.

Also; their has always been those out their are are not as good at understanding how to do things when it comes to computers like others might. Like Patching games. They will learn like we have. That does not mean that we have the right to be disrespectful about it.

Please try to keep that in mind when posting. It makes for a better forum environment.
