1.50 Patch Details and Download Link

But the correct install order should have been posted with the official message when Patch 1.50 was released, cause then we would all have known what the correct order is. =)

I have reinstalled BF now, patched 1.40, installed NS and again patch 1.40, and after that I have tried to patch 1.50, same problem. (It says that I have already installed a newer patch than 1.50). :/ Starting to lost my hope to get this game work at the moment

Yep, thats cause you use the wrong install order + wrong patch. You need the latest patch only, not any other.. Btw, you used Patch 1.50 Full, right? Do you have the Deluxe Edition? Anyway, try this order:

Install BF2142
Install Patch 1.50 FULL
Install NS
Install Patch 1.50 FULL

That should work

You shouldn't get that error when installing patch 1.50, there is no newer patch.
The version number will be on the login screen on the lower right.
Installing 1.40, NS, 1.40, then 1.50 should work for everyone.
You can try just the 1.50 full patch, let us know if it works save me doing it.

Use the manual uninstall and start over if you have to: ANSWER
Your NS download will be in C:\Programdata\Electronic Arts\EA Link\cache\{ long list of numbers n letters }\bf2142_bp1

For me and many other that modified content error would happen when you patch the game with 1.50 before NS. That is why a lot of us say to use the 1.40 before and after the NS then use 1.50. Note that this one has also be proven to not always happen to everyone. A lot of people have also been able to get the game to work with just using the 1.50 patch.

The very first patches were pretty bad. In fact I remember that they released the wrong one to people.

No Problem. I think that it was mentioned before for NS. It normally had a pop up message saying that game had to be patched before you can install. It has been awhile since I have installed mine. I am not sure if they changed that when installing it from the EADM.

Have you removed the BF2142 folders from both the My Documents and Program Files on the c:drive? Delete those two folders after uninstall if you have not already.
You could also try a registry cleaner before reinstalling; if you wish. I use CCleaner. You can get it here for free. Download CCleaner 2.12.660 - FileHippo.com
You should try all the methods for installing the game. Just remember that all the files must be removed between the reinstalls. Or else the files may be corrupted.

I'm re-downloading the 1.50, will reinstall the game and try JGraslis order. Hope I get it work with that. Will reply you if i get it work or not.

.. But remember to remove the BF2142 folder from My documents first, and also remove the real folder where the game was installed..

Same with the NS modified content error. I suspect there is an old version of the 1.50 full patch which causes this, which is still available on some file download sites somewhere.

As for the bad patch. I do think that their might be a few sites that still have the bad one.

Ok, so I re-downloaded the BF2142_Update_1.50.exe from ea largedownloads ftp.
Installed 2142 on a new machine, installed BF2142_Update_1.50.exe, and the BFHQ crash is still there.
Installed NS and then BF2142_Update_1.50.exe again, BFHQ crash is still there and I got the modified content error on NS servers.

So if people are getting these problems (not everyone does apparently), they need to re-install in this order.

whats going on the bf2142 why its the site playing up for, us again , and why is there a fix on it ,so you can not get it to work it again ... us on mnkys are having the samethin, it got to be internet playing with us,.? its self again/. look virgin playing around again, to get more money out of us again ,for your internrt, it all playup last week end internet just as virgin launch ther nuw 50gb server for £50.00 month. its looking like the crunch on us money grapping gits too much for me iam not working but its playing with all your internet ,you will get less for your money and that the fact.......and all this to get money from you?

ok ima getting them probs, i just found my old cd and key,
reinstalled 2142, got installtion error on 1.50 patch
cos ima not using delux 2142 do i have to do this order?

install1.40 again
install 1.40-1.50 increm
update pb

this game is getting on my lalalala, why not just make 1 complete exe update
4-5 times ive had to install this game, will that order above get bf2142 working online for me?

Ok ive done this now ima getting problems when i need to reinstall1.40 after NS when i install the increm from1.40 to 1.50 it say alreay upto date please some1 at EA sort this mess u have created!

I'm asking the same question. I've got the deluxe edition, I've installed, downloaded 1.50 full and installed. I've downloaded the new BF2142.exe and put it in the appropriate folder. The game loads, I can choose to join a game, but when the map complete's it's loading, it says at the bottom of the game "Loading complete. Verifying client info." and the game locks. Any thoughts?

You all may want to try and install the 1.40 patch before the 1.50 patch.
You can get that patch here: http://largedownloads.ea.com/pub/pat...pdate_1.40.exe

So uninstall the game and start over from scratch. This time make sure to patch the game with 1.40 first then 1.50 afterward.
