Default 2142 BF Deluxe Edition - Patch 1.50

Hi all.

Been playin BF 2142 for about a month now and all been fine except for the problem of not being able to load Cerbere Landing map, anyway I just downloaded and installed patch 1.50 final release today and now i get this message>

conflict with Emulation Software detected

any ideas??

Ive had to uninstall then reinstall the game without the patch to be able to play again.

My game is 2142 BF Deluxe Edition v1.40 (Deluxe Edition includes Northern Strike on the DVD)

Thanks

Hi

Nope, I need the disc in the machine to play the game, which I suppose means the link you suggest will not apply to me.

I suspect the problem has something to do with the Deluxe Edition.

Here you go have a look at this
EA Support
SecuROM is a copy control system implemented by software publishers to protect their intellectual property. You can find general information about SecuROM at SecuROM.
If you receive one of the following errors when launching the game you may need assistance with SecuROM:
  • Error: xxxx (four digit error code such as 7001 or 4001)
  • Error: CD/DVD Emulation Software Detected
  • Error: A required security module cannot be activated. This program cannot be executed
  • Error: This program cannot be executed
  • Error: Please insert the Original Disk, not a back up

SecuROM? As in Sony's SecuROM? The one that is sometimes detected as an invaisve rootkit? *Any* computer company should be embarrassed at employing that utterly invasive and security-hole creating DRM software.
I loathe the stuff and any new games I find with it in I return to the store I purchased it from.
Did you guys know that when you uninstall all games that have installed SecuROM that SecuROM does not uninstall but persists to keep an eye on you?

Usually if you have problems with one map only; then that map has some corrupted file info on it. The only way to fix that is to completely uninstall the game and manually delete the BF2142 folders from the computer; then do a complete reinstall of the game.

The problem with the emulation software is also simple. You must remove all of that software that is causing the conflict.

Hey guys

I think I found a solution. Here's the link - EA Forums: Conflict With Emulation Software ...

and what the link says -
Quote:
I fixed this problem just now by downloading the very thing that caused it.

I downlowned Y.A.S.U. (just google it) which works to "cloak" emulation software.
I then found it needed to be working in conjunction with Daemon tools to work, so I downloaded Daemon tools (just googled it again) and put the Y.A.S.U. exe file into the Daemon tools folder is program files (which needs to be done so it can work).
I ran Y.A.S.U. and "cloaked" the emulation software, started BF2142 and it worked!

Hope this helps! (I am running deluxe edition with vista as well)
Its not perfect but it does appear to have answered my query.

I just followed the steps above and IT WORKED.

Problem solved

Thanks guys for your attention

ps My problem with Cerbere Landing map only occurs when joining a game with that map already playing or on single player but not when the server changes to that map.

I installed the 1.5 update for battlefield 2142 and now I get a "Conflict with Emulation Software Detected" error. I am not running any emulation software on my computer. I did a search of the EA site and found it might be a problem with SecuROM™ software that comes with the game to prevent you from copying the game. I e-mailed SecuROM™ and here is their fix.

Please download a new <BF2142.EXE> from the link below. I would appreciate it if you could rename your current one to

<C:/PROGRAM FILES/ELECTRONIC ARTS/BATTLEFIELD 2142 DELUXE EDITION/BF2142.EXE.OLD >

Extract the downloaded file into the application path mentioned and start the new application.

The link for the new file is:

http://www.securom.com/support/custo...033/BF2142.zip

I followed the above instructions and now BF2142 works just fine.

Default Beef

I am having a serious beef with all of these software copy protection company's, now I respect the corporations wishes to prevent illegal downloading and piracy but at what cost? I have had nothing but issues with punkbuster, starlight, securom, so on and so forth, it's completely frustrating, I am an honest gamer/consumer, I don't pirate anything, nor do I own pirated anything, but I do have software for copying my disks so that the game/program disk that I paid 20-200$ for doesn't get damaged from casual use, it is impossible to completey protect your disks from all damage, even just putting it in the case or the drive can scratch it and eventually damage it to a point where it does not work anymore, but due to company's like this I am no longer allowed to protect myself as the consumer from having to shell out an additional sum of money to replace a game/program I have already paid for. It's not fair, and should NOT be legal.
