Northern Strike is a booster pack. It's 3 new maps and patch 1.40 has 1 new map.

Booster maps are.....
Liberation of Liepzig (spelling?)
Bridge at Remagen
Port Bavaria

The patch map is Highway Tampa

Also if you do not have the NS expansion then Highway Tampa will be the only map that you can play Assault Lanes mode in; because the only other Assault Lanes maps are in the NS expansion.

I bought NS some time ago.
Had a problem with 1.40. Had to totaly delete and stert again.
Installed 2142 and then 1.25 all was good. But no sign of NS and when I did the EA link and tried to put the code in it says already in use? - Not by me it isn't.
At present I am still on 1.25.
having problems with that now. Only 9 servers showing to work with.
Also now starting to freeze when loading some maps??
Might give up and buy another companies game, less complicated.

When you log into the new EADM it should show your NS download. If not you still might have the installer in your files if they were not cleared.
It should be here.:
C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\EADM\cache
or
C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\EALink\cache
depending on what you downloaded it with.
Also when installing the game make sure you just use 1.40 and none of the earlier patches.

I had the same problem, but from reading this thread i've narrowed it down to not being able to activate the NS license.

I dont know if anyone else has this problem either, but if you go to EA - FIFA 08, Battlefield 2142, The Sims 2 Pets, Need For Speed, Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08, FIFA Manager 08 , then click log in then enter your details and actually try to log in, Do you get an error page?

Also i'm unable to get anything usefull out of EA customer support whom i may add never appear to actually read the problems a person is having and just spam you with the same ready written scripts whatever your problem is!


Tbh this is all just a waste of time i wish Steam could sell some EA games it is far superior to this EA Download manager rubbish.

hello, i need some advice about NS.... i bought it on ea store.. got the key to activate it.. installed the ea download manager and then saw my northern strike there... i installed it and it did not ask for the key i was given...for some reason.. any way it says i have not got the expansion pack altho i have payed with my own money for it..this is where i am now..i have bouht a $10 game that i cant evan play.. any idea's of where i might have gone wrong!?!?!?

p.s. in the ea download manager wher my NS is it says "INSTALLED" and i have no othere buttons or thing i can do with it.

Check your game files to see if the 3 maps from NS show up in their. If they do then you have it installed.
Also; if you did not put the 1.4 patch over top of the NS after you installed the NS you will not be able to play those maps.

Installing the game should go like this.:

1. Install main BF2142 game.
2. Download and Install patch 1.4 onto the game. (You must only use the patch 1.4 for the game. Using any of the early patch's will cause the game to not work right.)
3. Download and Install the NS from the EADM. (This gets tied to your account when you buy it. It does not need you to enter an activation key like the CD Key for the game.)
4. Now re-install the patch 1.4 over top of the NS.

Ok...... i done exactly as u said evan uninstalling bf2142 and doing all again..and when i try to connect to a northern strike server it says "Northern strike boster pack requierd to play on this server" and does not work. the ea downloader i bought the game with is diffrent from the email i made the acount on will this affect it?

When you log into the EADM is your account the same Email address that your account is under? For example lets say the my email account would be (JohnDoe@fakeMail.---) This would have to be the same thing that I use for both the BF2142 EA Master account login at the beginning of the game to get to my soldiers and the EADM login. If you bought the NS under a different Email then it will not work. People have done this before and to fix it the had to contact the EA Support team through their site by emailing them explaining the problem. Which is; that it was bought under the wrong account and that you need it switched to the right one. They should email you back asking for the appropriate info that they need to fix the situation.

I just purchased the BF2142 deluxe boxed edition.

But after it was installed and registered using my account online I came to play the game and BOOM none of the Northern Strike multiplayer games can be joined to.

When I attempt to uninstall the game I get an error stating the name of a DLL.

What's happening?

Their are a lot of DLL errors out their. I have not got them before when uninstalling. What is the exact DLL error name? Can you try to check and see what it is?
I do know that you need to repatch the NS with 1.4 after you install it. Have you done that yet.
It should go like this when installing.:
1. Game
2. patch 1.4
3. NS
4. patch 1.4

Oh and their has been a lot of people lately having problems with th Deluxe Edition from both the box and from the EADM. Also a lot of people have been having problems with just the EADM in general. I do not think that EA has got back to us yet on these issues but we are keeping an eye out for a response.

hi, im having trouble with NS , when i go to click join game after the map has loaded it boots me stright bak to the server screen with a message saying "This server only allows players with unmodifyed content to join. please revert to the official version of bf2142 to join"

Does anyone know how to fix this ???

This is usually if you have installed an earlier patch before the newest one. This causes the game data to be corrupted from time to time. Some times it could just be that a file has become corrupted somehow.
Did you just install the 1.40 patch; or did you also install 1.25 or lower before it?

In all cases you will have to uninstall the game. Then manually delete the BF2142 folders from the My Documents and C:\ drive of the computer. Then when you reinstall the game it should only be installed with the 1.40 patch.
Note: If you have the NS expansion then you will need to patch the game with 1.40 before and after you install the NS expansion.

Well, i installed NS in the middle of January, but only now have i actually got round to playing it. When i try to go onto the server it says i can't play with'customized content'. I've tried installing PB again , but it still won't work.

The patch, i installed 1.4 when i started playign bf2142, but now when i try to download it again to try and see if it'll fix the problem, it's not there...is 1.25 now the newest patch or something!?

the message u get there is actually due to the fact that u installed NS without applying the latest patch (which is 1.4 Patches and Fixes: Battlefield 2142 v1.40 Final Patch - Demo Movie Patch Download Section - GamersHell.com )
after u applied the patch u should be able to play the booster pack maps

i cant get to download the thing in the first place!!! it says on the leaflet thing with the code to go to the EA LINK website then it says to log in, click on game store, then enter the prepaid code in the text box in the top right, i cant find the bloody box (sorry for the use of language, or is it ok im new??) the new site is just confusing me as this is out dated and i have wasted my £6 thanks EA!!!!

Try this. Go to the Ea Store. EA Store (US) Online Store - Products
You will need to add the game to the cart. After you add it to the cart it ask you which method. Choose digital. Then it ask you which language then you select English or whatever you choose. After which you hit add to cart again then it will bring you to the shopping cart. It will show you the game in the cart and an extended download service. Under that it has an area for the promotional code which says (If you have a promotional code, enter here.:) Try entering it in that section and click apply. Then I guess hit checkout. see what happens.

It should now show up in the EADM. Just make sure that you use the same login for the EA Store and EADM that you use for the BF2142 core game.

Oh I am also not sure if you get the extended download service as well. You may need to omit that from the cart. Try it with it in the cart first. If it does not work try it with out it.

If it does not come with it the you will need to make a copy of the NS installer.
Make a copy of the installer you get form EADM. You go into the cached file location for the EADM and copy the installer application. Then you can put it into a safer and easier place to retrieve it. This is the file location that the EADM defaults to.: C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\EADM\cache You can change this by going into the settings under the EADM and replace it with a different location. This link shows what I mean. http://img219.imageshack.us/img219/614/eadmyw4.jpg When going into the cached folder you still will have to explore further in to get to the installer. It should be in a file that should be named like this { ########## } with a 10 digit number. I did not list the numbers because they might be different for you. Then go into the the bf2142_bp1 which should be the same. Now you should see the installer.
When making a copy of the file; you should copy the {##########} file.

ive done all this and still i cannot play northern strike it just tells me after loading the game i have to revert back to the unmodified version this is gettring stupid its now becoming a total headache to play this game every week or so theres always a new problem with it iether pb or some other glitch in the game and spending hours trying to find answers that dont work now up until a week ago i could play northern strik now whats changed to make it unplayable EA sort your heads out and stop messing with things

i can't get NS to download either jus like Cplbulldog1i bought the booster pack off the shelves in a shop and the instructions on how to download NS that come with it aren't valid anymore because EA have changed EA LINK to EA STORE (so the instructions don't make sense)
can someone please offer any suggestions on how to download NS otherwise i'v just wasted £6 on a game that doesn't fu*kin work
