hooked up new monitor now BF2142 won't run at all

I just hooked up a Dell 1905fp 19" flat panel to my PC and now BF2142 won't run. The initial pic comes up and then the screen goes black like it always does. I'm waiting for the walker animation to start and then I get kicked back to the desktop. Does anyones else have this problem? I'm open to suggestions?

I d/l the new video and monitor drivers but still didn't work. I'm running a AMD X2 6000 w/ one Radeon HD 2900XT and 1 or 2 GB of 800MHz dual channel RAM.

Please help!!!!

i had a very similar problem when i got a new 22"er i looked for advice everywhere didnt find any help so i was playing around with my vid card making sure it was all set with my new monitor anyway i restored my computer still nothing happend so i uninstalled my vid card drivers and re installed them and then everything worked i must have missed something somwhere down the line but it worked after i re installed the drivers if it doesnt work for you id restore your computer it didnt work for me but it may work for you.
