Well i haven't played it since the night i downloaded it (been back to 1.25 since), and this is why:
In almost every round i tried of Highway Tampa, the game crashed to desktop at some point or another. It wasnt soon after i joined, but i never had a chance to finish a round. But the changelist sounds excellent. Edit: It used to do the same CTD in 1.25 now i think about it. But it doesn't anymore, after reinstalling it with the full 1.25 patch.. I think it may be because i downloaded the incremental 1.40 patch. I'll download the full one sometime (not just now, its too big), and see if it works properly then. |

Ok, I downloaded the 1.40 BETA patch (Highway Tampa Map) from EA not EA Link and it downloaded fine but when I tried to play it froze. This was much like a few weeks ago when I had problems with the Windows updates interfering with the download of maps and would freeze 50-75 % of downloaded map. Then you couldn't ctrl+alt+del or alt+tab out of the game. I had this problem last night with the 1.40 BETA and am going to have to go thru the same grueling steps to complete wipe the game out of my system and registry. Which from what I found out is the only way I can fix this download problem, and I've tried everything else there is.

i just bought the game, should i have installed 1.25 before installing 1.40 ? apart from that the patch reads as 1.27 (maybe because i didn't install 1.25)
also the level Verdun crashes 5-10 minutes into playing it. hope you can help, cheers Mjr. McTroll |

Because there ARE only going to be 3 or 4 servers and so when you want to play proper games again you go back to 1.25. I'm sure EA told you to do that. Well, i didnt see it this time but they definitely said for the BF2 1.4 beta patch. |

I am running this BETA on both XP pro and Vista Home premuim 64bit on dual boot and both are giving me the Crash to desktop when loading the next round or if I press esc to go back to the BF menu. Sometimes I can play about 3-4 rounds if I am lucky. I still get the odd punk buster kick but I know how to update and that works for a while until it kicks me again.
However the only thing about the game play I noticed that the sprint run speed seems to be a bit slower has this been reduced? I love the Clark shot gun improvement reloads much quicker The Highway Tampa map I think needs more tanks and walkers in the 64 player servers, I just feel that sometimes you get stranded to easily or wait to long for vehicles |

Hi,
Problem I've found Freezing issue, game locks up for no apparent reason, usually seems to be when I am moving in a tank or buggy, did notice that my Ping seems very high. Sometimes cant get into a server and BFHQ says connection has been lost. I also keep getting a crash to Desktop at the end of rounds. With all the water features in the maps, has anyone thought about an amphibious vehicle? I think I will revert back to the 1.25 version until the issues are resolved. Anyone got any tips on an easy way to revert back to 1.25, cos I didn't know I could run 1.25 and 1.4* at the same time. I suppose I will just have to do a complete reinstall. |

I have also had the problem regarding a lack of servers. No where in the entire download process was I notified that the patch was still in BETA and that I should install a seperate copy of Battlefield 2142 for it. Perhaps this should be put in the installer next time a BETA patch is released. Also I noticed that the installer still had '1.25' written all over it - hopefully this can be fixed by the time it is released

Hi all having a few problems with beta 1.40. Can play for may be 2 or three rounds some times then I lose conection to server other times it will lose connection on first round. Its very intermintant, then server disappears when refreshed the server may or may not appear. I'm a little bored with this although I'm sure when these issus's are sorted this will be a popular map.
![]() Is there any way I can revert back to the old patch without reinstalling the whole game thanks Maveric |

Good map, but this losing connection is very annoying, i get it on all the 1.40 tampa servers ive tried.
also it would of been nice to have some great tank battles, without the gunships for once, or there should be some more protection on the tanks maybe. lol Like a heat seeking misille that deploys from the top. LOLive had my kit not save all the time to, plus i noticed all my heavy armour has been unticked a couple of times on all my class of soldiers. but i love the map, but perhaps some of the more serious bugs can also be sorted out as well from the 1.25 When you make the 1.40 final

Why are you shortening the reload time of the Clark shotgun???
The shotgun is fine as it is. I use it often and I will only end up owning with it and you will also see a massive increase of people using it. You should be buffing up the Clark 12-RDX timed explosives as they are useless. Who is making these stupid decisions?????????

After playing some more today, this connection lost problem is getting to much, i know its beta and i know problems arise while its in beta.
But this bugger loses connection always when i got a few kill and pins/badges etc, man i lost loads LOL. But when you look at the bugs still in 1.25 we have no hope ![]() Plus theres AA gun in the EU base i think on top of a building with a piece of barrier or something stuck right in the middle of the gun, dont know if this has been metioned before. but you cant use the gun put it that way lalalala |
