i am disgusted with the way people have been treated because of EA messing people about with there new patches i have had freezing problems with this game since May i want a replie with some answers otherwise i and the people i know will no longer be purchasing any further products from EA games the support from the company is an utter shambles

ROFL!!! @ mdusiek like a little eager EA puppy dog.

EA should sort out one version i.e. v1.25 before running off and creating more issues with 1.40. C'mon EA, I been playing your games for so many years and your getting really dire at tracking and resolving bugs.

Learn to walk before you run and fix all thats wrong with v1.25, it'll make life easier for further enhancements in future if you got less bugs to deal with from the past.

Trust me.

Hey could anyone tell what to do when you have installed the 1.40 patch and you have played it for while but then when you play juts like 10seconds the bunkbuster kicks you out? This has not happenet me before when i played the normal Bf 2142.

The game crashes and i need to alt-tab to desktop where it says that battlefield has an error allocating memory .. .... ... and then it shuts it down.

geforce 8800 GTX 768mb
2gig memory
my hard drive is still a virgin
i have ALL the LATEST DRIVERS
i run vista home edition 32bit

maybe EA can fix this in the next patch

oh yeah i am running the beta version patch 1.40
For the rest i have nog bugs except the occasional kick which i think is still a travesty but hey....they dont make em like they used to.

TIP:1BEFORE INSTALLING ANY BETA PATCH SET A SYSTEM RESTORE POINT SO YOU CAN EASILY GO BACK.

TIP:2 LOST CONNECTING....THIS CAN HAPPEN IF YOU HAVE A WIRELESS NETWORK AND CORDLESS PHONES AS THEY BOTH USE THE SAME FREQUENCY(2.4GHZ) AND THAT CAUSES PROBLEMS .

unless your up close and point your gun at an enemy soldier you can't see there name above there head.

not a fault as such but I saw GRASS on the new map and felt like it was the end of the world again, I mean GRASS in 2142 unthinkable.

again not a fault, are the game tools hard to work with? because as of yet there doesn't seem to be and mods out there in comparison half life 1/2 have scores. if anyone wlalalalads is reading this i'd like to see the "battle for serenity valley" that would kick probably censored word.

The first time I load a game it drops my connection to the server I was attempting to join. The second time I am able to join.

However, the length of time I can stay before getting dropped due to connection varies from instantly when I select my spawnpoint to about 1.5 hours.

What else.....occasionally my kit will get reset.

That is about it.

The connection issue dropping you out of game though is extremely annoying.

I downloaded the 1.40 patch, but when i installed it it said it was installing 1.25 i presumed it installed the 1.40 patch as well, I'm trying to find a reason why there are incredibly small amounts of servers ranging from 1-8. Is it normal to have this few servers or have screwed up installing the patch?

Barnard341 this is normal for the beta patch apperently theres hardly any servers for it. if i could go back to 1.25 without reinstalling the whole thing i would do it but since you cant i am stuck with it for now.

when is the new 1.40 patch coming out? hasnt it been over a month since the beta? i think it is about time.

PROBLEMS i am still having: Every hour or 2 hours i get the "lost connection to server error" If you dont open the right ports it will be very 5 to 10 min, but still it is to much. i can hardly finish a map most of the time. I also got a crash saying punkbuster.exe had an error and then it shut the program down. I seem to have fixed the memory problem using c++ and editing the battlefield 2142.exe to be able to deal with 2gig of mem. EA needs to fix the disconnects, i dont use wireless, and i configured my firewall correctly+ i made a firewall exception for battlefield 2143.exe so really, a kick once every 2 hours isnt acceptable.

Patch 1.40 constant drop outs. Patch 1,25 no drop outs, same system Vista 32 or 64, both with same mother boards Asus P5W DH Deluxe, all with latest drivers and updates bios included. Both systems 4 gig, both SATA 500 II drives both 6750 Duo core CPUs. and 6850 NVid cards 512.
So why in 1.25 do we get no drop outs or hang ups with PB, but in Patch 1.40 we do.The most time played in one stretch is around 1.4 hours, but most of the time around 40 mins even if that.

Yes there are FEW servers hosting 1.40 which again is a massive fault of EA, if they promote a patch then they should dam well provide the service to back it up.

AA guns on roof in side structure at Base. seen often that Wall hack, Seen that it is still possible to fly into hanger bays.

Shot guns killing at long range one shot.

Titan guns WELL under powered, these things are what 120 mm shots or even larger, and they don't wipe out a tank or transport with out salvo??

Titan AA guns must be firing peas, takes way to long to nail a Air transport or Attack chopper.

5 Packs or C4 would wipe out the ENTIRE room/console/hallway/Core.

Yes its set in 2142 BUT if tech has progressed that far, so have the explosives and killing power.

Should make the Attack Choppers 2 seater takeoff only, i.e you have to have a gunner in it to take off, same as transports, 2 or move to move.
That would stop the gun Hos and the taxi jumpers.

Rockets on choppers still not finding their target correctly, side guns on transports still not hitting correctly.

Oh and you really cant crawl past a motion detecting mine, thats facing your way, unless it was on legs of its own over 5 feet high, does not make sense at all.

Other than this, its a great game.

Experiencing all the same issues as everybody else. The dropping your connection right away before entering a map for the first time is getting real tiresome... Second try connects every time. Weird. I find if you are not playing the highway tampa map disconnects are less frequent.

1.how long is this test going to run before the final 1.4 or 1.41 is released?

2.I still find it odd that there no indoor environments even a few damage buildings. in bf2 there where a few choice positions for tank busting/sniping that added realism to the battlefield having nothing but shipping crates and sealed portacabin type things that you can't enter is odd and a bit lazy on the design side of things. suggest maybe one of those Portacabin things be used as a command post that only the commander could enter as most admins seem to prefer to have the commander commanding instead of fighting and commanding(no chance of a sniper picking him off while he's order a EMP strike)

On the point of "HE'S" being 2142 and all should their not be women fighting as well it's not like an unlawful,undeclared, invasion of a sovereign country to steal there only natural resource it's a fight for survival, control the plantable land or die it's that simple so i think there would be women fighting too.

Ok how bout you go out of this thread and look at every topic on this forum. Sad enough that BF2 is still way more popular but even worse everyone that does play bf2142 post there problems here 2 hours in!

Problems that a mojority of us experience that we dont with bf2

-Freezing
-Connection issues cause by the software
-Spyware (yea thats actually extreamly sad one)
-Not allowd to run any applications in the background
-Cant have any firewalls, or antiviruses open while running the game
-Making of expansions when the game isnt even finished yet
-Beta patches with no fixes for the previous broken patches, beta causes even more problems. Now we have to live with 1.25's issues which wont be fixed in this patch and this patches issue.
-No support for the issues even after months of them being around
-Last but not least, everything is our programs fault. BF2142 is perfect so you have to check every peice of software you own to get any support from EA. Sure they contact u in 24 hours to say "turn your firewall off" you say "it is off" now wait another 24 hours for them to say "are you sure" and so on.
