ea games have the worst rep in the games bizz,if it was a horse it wud ov been shot years ago,we had near n uff the same lalalala with battlefield2 .the divvys who made the latest patch must work for a rival company lol,i wouldnt care i only came back to 2142 cos my 7 yr old son wanted to play it ,its bin sitting in a draw for 9 months cos its never worked the way it shud..THESE lalalalalalaS TAKE YOUR MONEY AND RUN

try this it worked on bf2 so i should work on 2142 http://portforward.com/guides.htm cant take the credit tho its down to Osgiliath101met it guides you through open ports for games just follow the instructions for opening ports it covers most firewalls im using zonealarm pro and no longer have service communication failure message wooh hoo hope it works for you on 2142 ,,illcheck back to see if anyone has sorted there probs out ....good luck..

having issue with punkbuster in bf2142 after 10 seconds of joining server gett kicked and comes up with just a popup saying punkbuster and no error uninstalled and reinstalled pbsvc and checked to see if punkbsta a and b were started and set to automatic also alowed both files on my firewall also updated punkbusta files but still get kicked with same error when i was getting same error on old pc managed to sort it by just reinstalling punkbusta but hasnt worked on new pc anyways any help would be apreciated thanks for help so far

if you need any addaitional info to help sort problem out let me know just wanting to play bf2142 as asap

Im having the same problem as DualCore, im booted from a game and a pop up window appears reading 'punkbuster'. I used to play this game a lot about 4 months ago and had no problems, and have recently came back. Several days ago I joined a server and everything seemed to work fine, however yesterday evening I joined the same server and got the punkbuster pop up, since then its happened on a number of servers.

So i started looking into the issue online, im very new to punkbuster and basically dont have a clue whats going on lol. Apparantly i have PnkBstrA running, but I cant see PnkBstrB and I dont know how to get this?

Im fairly sure its not a problem with my firewall etc, and decided to post here in the hope someone could help me out.

Thanks in advance for any advice/help, untill then ill continue to try and solve the problem myself.

**Update.

I just checked my firewall to be safe and it was blocked

, ive made all the firewall issues are now sorted. But im still getting the same message, before the server booted me though a message came up along the lines of "PnkstrB couldnt no be initiated" didnt catch the rest but that was the jist of it.

So does this mean i need to to download something? Or is there something I am not doing to initialise it?

seem to have sorted out my punkbusta issue just followed instructions on how to manually uninstalll and delete all bf2142 manually heres link http://support.ea.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg...i=&p_topview=1 then just followed instuctions on how to manually uninstall delete punkbuster go to http://support.electronicarts.co.uk/...MwNDAmcF9jdj0m on instructions how to manually delete punkbuster then restart obviossly and reinstall bf2142 then patch then northen strike then patch then install punkbusta service using http://www.evenbalance.com/downloads/pbsvc/pbsvc.exe then use http://websec.evenbalance.com/downlo...ws/pbsetup.exe to update punkbusta files

i think what was cousing it was corruted bf2142 serial number registry key value meaning it was showing up as invalid couse it couldnt read it as it was corrpted hope this helps sorted my problem out anyways just thought i would try and help others with same kind of problems let me know if you need any more help

I dont think any game as lalalaed me off this much b4 i uninstalled/reinstalled BF2142 5 TIMES and lalalain PB and it works fine for like a lalalalain day first there was no explanation then i got communication error now i get this lalalalain #9006 error code i was gunna get crysis and battlefield 2 even pre orderd crysis but if they use PB i definatly WONT be wasting my money on the "pleasure" of lalalalaing around for countless hours uninstalling and reinstalling everytime i want to play a lalalaing game

Thats it, I've finally gave up and tossed 2142 into the bin. After buying the game and being hit with "Invalid CD key" and having to edit my reg. I then end up with problems with punkbuster and the Northern Strike add on. I don't think I've managed to play one game without some sort of problem turning up. Two days ago "punkbuster rears its ugly head once more, and now after following every page of advice on these forums, and uninstalling and reinstalling 2142, 1.25 update, Northern Strike and 1.25 update again and again and again (to no avail) and then having to uninstall and reinstall and update punkbuster upteen times. For the sake of sanity I have now tossed it where it belongs, in the bin. I feel like I have been mugged. EA should just have hid around the corner and hit me on the head with a hammer as soon as my wallet was out. I was nearly having to pull my fist out my screen it wound me up so much.

EA, you need to find something other than Punkbuster, its supposed to stop cheats, not paying punters trying to play the game. Its put me right off buying anymore EA games. Rant over, i'm off for a pint

I too have a similar issue but my message is talking about a giud ban then a series of numbers starting with 8, I dont understand why this is happening. I do occasionally get to play but its very occassional

Can someone please advise what I need to do, and yes I have done all the uninstall and removed registry enteries and so on with no luck.

After lagging online since i bought 2142 i have come to the conclusion that itlalalalalabuster thats causing it, basically i just wiped every pb file of my comp and then reinstalled the game, then when i joined the server i would get kicked after 2 min by punkbuster with no error msg.

it wasent a problem tho because i knew using the pbsetup to update it would fix it, i didint fix it straight away tho because for those 2 mins before i got kicked i didint lag at all, i then played about 10 two minutes games without lag, so i decided then too update punkbuster and ever since i updated it i lag like lalalala and reinstalling pb seems to do nothing.

RAWWWWWWWWWR i dunno if any one else is still getting problems but my 2142 has been going spaco for weeks now at first it was kicking with a PB message blah blah blah i fixed that by uninstalling PB reinstalling then using the update.

now that dosnt work for me either =( now my load stops EVERY lalalalaING TIME! right where the line goes down between the loading page you know the one with the map info and the other side its got server info ect...well yea its lalalalaing me off now as i cant fix it i would tell u my PC details but i gtg to college now and cba so yea its gay and can u plz not use lalalalaing gay punk buster in any of ur future games EA ta =)

(btw my PC can handle the game fine) oh and ive updated grapic drivers ect

Was having problems with Punkbuster as well. Ran uninstall for pb, then ran search for pb files and manually deleted them. Went to firewall and deleted pbA and pbB. Ran Punkbuster setup from http://www.evenbalance.com/
Ran Pb uninstall and then reinstall, then ran service test and pb update.
Game ran fine after that. Might be worth a try.

I got same problem with Punkbuster after the installation of the last patch ... Now it seems back to normality after I using the button "reset to default" in the option menu.
