Battlefield 2 Update 1.50 Troubleshooting

When I instal 1.5 patch I got an error and the code is 5009: 0x8000ffff.
I need help fixing it. Any1 that can help me?

Patch 1.50 >> Done.

But when i try to retrieve my account.... BLAM!

Nothing is wrong, go to My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2
Delete the folder: cache

Also make sure your graphics card, sound card, motherboard and any other drivers are up to date

I can play the single player without problem.

But cannot play multiplayer/retrieve my account...

this is a reply to someone els with a similar issue but not related to BF2, i taken this from MS tech site

Thank you for taking the time to send us feedback. 0x8000FFFF usually represents “generic” failures for which the program is not able to identify the exact cause at the time the failure occurs.

You can check to see if the Volume Shadow Copy service is set to Manual and is not disabled.

Select Start

In the Start Search field type services.msc and press the enter key

In the Services console scroll down the list until you get to Volume Shadow Copy

If the service states it is Disabled in Startup Type column the double click to open the properties

Select the Startup type drop down list and select Manual

Click Ok

Close the services console

Attempt to run the backup again

This issue is a bit outside of the Windows Update Fix it that we released for the 0x8000FFFF error. If the above steps do not resolve your issue you can open a support incident by using the “Get Help Now” link at the top right of any of our Knowledge Base articles.

hi since downloading the 1.5 patch i have not been able to use my joystick for flying because when i try to assign buttons the same key goes for both plus and minus, and if i try to fly by keyboard the same thing happens and i crash. is there a fix for this problem?

dude - check out the solution in the attack 3 thread. should work for most other joystick issues.
