PB Black screenshot issue with vista..is it fixed?

I do not have admin access to a server running the beta, so I was wondering if the black punkbuster screenshot issues with vista+AA are fixed.

No, it was due to some incompatibility with the game + vista + in game AA.

Note #3: Black screenshots will happen if the videocard drivers are old, when the game is not the active application, or on some Operating System/videocard/driver combinations. Also, screenshot detour hacks could cause these black screenshots. Turning off AntiAliasing may help as well.

In summary, black screenshots might not be caused by cheats or hacks but checking all the videocard drivers and/or possibly directx drivers is advicable.

Make sure the latest drivers from Welcome to NVIDIA - World Leader in Visual Computing Technologies or ati.amd.com are in use.

I wrote a ticket to EB linking them to this thread to see where the problem lies (whether its the game or pb).

While older drivers can cause this issue, running vista and having AA turned on (in game) is the more frequent reason.

If the vista/aa issue can be fixed, we'll most likely start kicking for black screenshots.

Been banned already on some servers for having vista 64 due to PB giving out the black screenshots. Will get worse when people upgrade or buy new machines as they mostly come with a version of Vista pre-installed.

PB useless as ever.

You can't unless you try to join a server and and get the great PB message that you been banned and then going to admins server to find out exactly why you been banned.

And no they won't unban you if your using Vista, tried explaning to them what a stupid way to just ban folk for PBs inability to function properly. I don't even bother going to there forums anymore as it is pointless.

Sorry - running myself BF2 on Vista (32bit) and Win7 (32bit), Antialiasing enabled - pbss return normally.
Same applies for all of my clanmates, some of them run Vista (64bit) and Win7 (64bit).

Most of the people that have this problem have "fixed" it by turning off AA in game.

Our server was pretty strict about regulars not having black SSs, but that policy isnt being enforced right now in the hope that the new patch will fix it.

I had win7 rc7100 AA on and I got banned for having black ss, fix it don't fix it I don't care I just wish idiot admins know about it, not just accusing me of cheating.

vista black pbss are caused by AA and if you minimize the game.

ex. you load into a server without AA on and you play around xfire ingame isnt working so you minimize the game to check it, the first pbss of you in game will be normal and not black but as soon as you minimize and come back in every single pbss is then black unless you restart the game.

The Vista driver model and therefore the specifics of the render chain differs significantly from XP. Not running Vista I can't verify one way or the other if it's fixed in beta 3. Tweaking AA on/off or trying different driver versions is not as crazy as it sounds.

well yes it is a bug but its caused by many AA enabled or if a vista user minimizes the game and come back in the rest of there pbss will be black unless they restart.

I'm a admin and I have been looking in to this problem for a bit.
Its seams to be with videocards from 8800 and Up running AA.

But I have a MSI 9800GT that gives a Black PBSS with AA on or off, Also I found that you can not copy and past the end of the round score screen in to paint ( its just black )

I have 3 computers here.. the 2 main one are the same specs but one as a different brand videocard.

PC 1, Vista 32bit Galaxy 9800GT with AA X8 Black PBSS / Without AA clean
PC 2, Vista 32bit MSI 9800GT with AA X8 Black PBSS / Without AA Black PBSS
PC 3, Vista 32bit Asus 8400GS Have not tested yet / Without AA clean

We have a few members that run old cards and all there PBSS's are clean

Also AA dose cause black ss but not for everyone. Iv even see ss of people desktop wallpaper..lol
