Default Battlefield 2 Update 1.50 Beta 3

Files are currently going out to the RSP's to run some Beta 3 servers starting from tomorrow (Tuesday 7th) each RSP that runs servers will have the client files to help those not close to the UK getting the client files.

Please pay attention to the J10 aircraft to see if you feel anymore difference.

Connection issues should be ironed out and kick messages are back in the game.

Please do NOT install over a previous 1.50 Beta install. Install over 1.41 Battlefield 2 to ensure you don't get any unusual issues from overwriting files that shouldnt be there. When doing a reinstall (if you have to) please delete the Battlefield 2 directory after you have uninstalled. Also I recommend deleting profiles and cache files from your My Documents folder to ensure a clean install.

Please report all issues you get in this thread.

Thanks again guys.

the new 1.5 Beta for BF2 has the same control settings(up/down arrow usage) in the water vehicle section as 42 did, even though BF2 only has RIBS?

Does this make any sense?

Considering that the F35 is a missile magnet I hope the damn thing has become A VERY LARGE BRICK

The bit that gets me is......the Essex can hit a J10..........an IGLA can hit a J10................an F35 sitting 2m behind a J10 doesn't stand a hope in hell of hitting it........what? how? why?

The HUD fix was based on all your feedback and Battlefield tweaking knowledge. Thanks to you guys for bringing it up and even going as far as pointing out where to make the changes.

If you have BF2142 1.41 files still on your machine you dont need to. I just dont want old BF2 1.50 Beta files to cause you guys problems in the Beta 3 by having a file not get replaced properly or something.
Its happened before and it'll definately happen again. This is Battlefield after all.

Can you provide more informations on what exactly have been changed on the J10?
My fears have come true that it has anything to to with handling.
Is the turning radius smaller or maybe a drawback on responsiveness?
It would be good to know the corresponding con setting change, so we can see what influence the change has to the flying expierience.

Have there been fixes or changes about the AntiAir missile miss bug?

PS: Im glad that the project BF2 Patch 1.5 is alive again

Wooo! Thank you 1.5 team!

The TV mod came out of the blue but nice to see. Still dragon valley heli duels were some of the most epic I've had.

Is there anything else you are planning after testing beta 3, like minor value tweaks (balance/gameplay) or totaly new stuff (like a radio mute / super secret something you hinted at)?

Looks like BF2142 is a typo. Shouldn't that say BF2.

Which brings me to another question. Are you all feeling confident that the patch for BF2142 is going to go a lot faster and more smoother than it has been here for BF2?
I know that you are going to have less things to do as BF2142 works a lot better already and it already has some of the things that you added here.

You know the one thing that I hope works for this new Beta 3 is the controls for Special Forces. I really hope that issue is fixed. It made Special Forces unplayable. I would hate to see a similar issue in the patch for BF2142. Those control issues were a really big pain. That is the one thing that I am going to test first here for this new Beta 3.

Super Secret = Anti hacking built into bf2 like they did for bf2142 and a few more tweaks.

As far as the TV HUD on Valley , I loved it , I would get so many more kills on that map then any other one in the chopper.

I just hope the hit box on the choppers is fixed and is the same on every map , When I go to TV another chopper and my missile flies right thru the cockpit or Bounce off the belly of the chopper , Ya it needs to be fixed!!

Great to hear some news about the 1.5 Patch.

Regarding J10/F35 balance.
I guess that the Hitbox of the F35 was not fixed to make it smaller than a barn door?

::J10/F35 hitbox comparison::

Because in my opinion, changing the J10 is the wrong attempt to fix the balance issue.
The main problem is the F35, not the J10.
If you make the J10 weaker then you risk to break the balance between the F18 and the J10 on other maps.
So instead of making the J10 weaker, just fix the F35's hitbox and make it a bit stronger.

So chopper guys get some aiding HUD-fix so that they can see better and get even more kills. How about improving mobile-AA HUD, just TRY to hit something when crosshairs and everything blend into bright sky...
